Not really since the iPhone has been increasing the price every generation, my 4S costed me 599€ my 5 679€ my 6 789€ and so on...

In the United States, prices were fairly constant from the iPhone 3G through the iPhone 6.

6S: $649.

Of course, part of that is that the carrier used to subsidize part of the price of the phone, in exchange for locking customer into a two year commitment. The subsidy part dropped disappeared in 2015.

I’ve always wondered if they use the time to test everything: be sure all the items have the right descriptions, prices, that checkout works, etc. but you’d think they would have it all in test and just migrate it all to prod and that would take ten seconds. Just being careful?

That’s not how load works. It’s not loading a document from disk each time. The template is undoubtedly in cache and the database entries are undoubtedly cached on the back end. And, yes, I’m sure they’ve had more load on Prime Day for their annual garage sale. The load being far higher most likely. Enough to cause them to drop connections like a DDOS attack.

Apple can easily spin up as many servers as they need and have the CDNs prepped before going live.

So why do they do it? Don’t say build hype.

Remember, their site has to work with carriers too.

I personally don’t know, but I don’t think you do either.

The Watch Series 4 is available in Silver, Gold and Space Gray GPS and GPS+Cellular Aluminum and Silver, Gold and Space Black GPS+Cellular Stainless Steel. Unlike in the past, all Series 4 have Saphire crystals.

Totally untrue. Read the Tech Specs on the Series 4 Aluminum models and it very specifically states the screen is Ion-X strengthened glass as Aluminum models always have been.

They all have a sapphire back, but that’s it.

This gets a little less exciting each year. After many years of perorder every iPhone... Last year, I pre-ordered an X and was so underwhelmed I gave it away. This year I was so underwhelmed by the keynote that I just don't care.

It makes me a little sad that this annual tech excitement is just played out and meh for me now.

What Apple makes up for lack of choice, they make up for in bringing the same features to all.

At least you had a clear distinction before with the iPhone SE with features.. Now, even the cheaper iPhone with LCD has exactly the same set as the MAX does minus the dual camera system

Give us more separation like before. While you have easier for choice, the decision making is harder

Who caresss? Lol. Let people be excited about the iPhone. The majority of most people’s most heavily used device is their smartphone.

It’s the one thing that I personally buy every year. I don’t go shopping often, I don’t buy a TV often, a car often, a home often. What’s the big deal getting a new iPhone every year that does sooo much to make our lives simpler?

Yes, not until the pre-order starts. For pre-approvals in the upgrade profram, there’s small print in the email sent out that states you should get it done before 4pm PDT. I missed it as well.

I’m tired of this nonsense. I work all day and am busy throughout. They give us, what, 28 hrs to decide and get your pre-approval done? Pffff.
