Predictions....Will there be a shortage of phones?
There was no market for scalping with the X.

Don't be soo sure of that one...With 512Gig model it may come down to that choice

Lolol it’s very possible to afford an iPhone though and still live your life to the fullest. Idk why people act like buying an iPhone (especially financing it) is the stupidest thing ever and will plunge you into severe debt.

I’ll be passing on it this year, just too expensive for such minor updates.

Good luck with the preorders.

Was talking to my friends who own a iPhone SE. They were really disappointed that there wasn't a newer version. They don't want the larger 7 model.

I hope everyone gets their new iPhone and/or Apple Watch next week :)

For me it didn't feel right, bought my iPhone X less than a year ago, so I would spend more than
€ 2300 on 2 smartphones within a year. Plus the Xs is about 80% identical to last years iPhone X.

I'll stick another year with my old skool iPhone X :p

That’s the big thing. It’s dramatic this way. If they were constrained by technology they should/could easily have moved to a system that wouldn’t have the limitations.

Budget, budget, budget. Even a company as big as apple has budget issues. Plus all the integrations are built, and it'd be a pain to rebuild them for a new platform.

At some point they will have to rebuild it, but for now the pain is manageable.

It's true, though, that they are losing revenue while this occurs. A friend of mine was going to buy a refurb mac and got hit by the store outage. I suppose he'll just time shift his order, but still, it's 2018. Can't they just take the product pages offline?

It's all dependent on where that person is financially. For some it's pretty meaningless and likely adds up to less than what they spend on Amazon in a month. For others, it's a SIGNIFICANT part of their income. Many may even be vastly overstitching their financial means. It's really going to depend on the individual and their circumstances.

Literally every website across the internet which makes product changes each day, even including Apple's own.
Slightly different when your ordering has to work with 3rd party carriers and the insane volume on a few pages. I’m not saying I know, but this is not the same as some random product on Amazon.

Oh I totally agree. However, there are some folk that think everyyyyone is digging themselves into a hole of debt Lol.

Obviously there are many people out there who should NOT be spending $1K on an iPhone.

One survey says 48% of current iPhone owners plan to upgrade to 2018 models, and other very recent surveys that are on various news (local and network) today say less than 13% plan to because of the high cost of the phones.

Who to believe? I'd say 1/2 is way to high, but 13% seems a bit low.

The Watch Series 4 is available in Silver, Gold and Space Gray GPS and GPS+Cellular Aluminum and Silver, Gold and Space Black GPS+Cellular Stainless Steel. Unlike in the past, all Series 4 have Saphire crystals.

Is this true?

Zero interest 24-30 month plans makes it very affordable for people that don't have $1200+ to plop down on an iPhone. It's crazy these XS and Max phones are $60/mo though, but I guess that's about one nice dinner out per month one would have to give up. Seems reasonable.

I called Apple and the person I spoke with said the Apple Watch would be available for purchase in stores on 9/21.
[doublepost=1536894657][/doublepost]Anyone know what the giveback amount is for a series 2 38mm watch?

Does Apple offer montly payments for the watch like they do the phone?
No but carriers do on the LTE models.

No, they all have sapphire BACKS - only the SS has a sapphire front glass. The aluminum models are still Ion-X

It was $125 for S3 42mm

Just looking for advice! I am on the annual upgrade program, but am very happy with the with the iphone 8 (especially the size). Is it foolish not to upgrade to the Xs (or even the Xr)?

Dang it. I forgot to go in earlier to review my options. I guess I will have to speed order and worry about bands later. Upsizing from a 38mm to a 42mm. I have a larger wrist for a woman, so the 42 doesn't look bad. I tried one on at the store and while the larger band felt odd, I'll get used to it. But of course this means none of my current bands will work! My daughter, who gets all my hand me down tech, is thrilled.

I see the usual crowd is here. "Apple Store doesn't need to go down." "I'm not doing it this time, too expensive." "Not enough of an upgrade." "What a stupid name."

I haven't noticed any "Wait and let the early adopters work all the bugs out" notices yet. But I'm sure they are there!
