Just looking for advice! I am on the annual upgrade program, but am very happy with the with the iphone 8 (especially the size). Is it foolish not to upgrade to the Xs (or even the Xr)?

In my personal opinion, if you do not upgrade, next year you get to keep the iPhone 8 AND if you decide to upgrade then, get the new one at the time, and if you choose to, sell the 8 and make some money on it.

You do not have to upgrade every year, they just make it easy in case you do.

I was totally ready to get the watch immediately, but when I understood that the 18 hour battery would only last 6 hours (or less) if using for a GPS based work-out, that stopped me cold. An average bike ride for me can be 2-4 hours, and just earlier this week I was out for almost 6 hours, which means I’d have a dead watch. If I have to charge every night, the battery has to be able to get to the evening even when I’m spending hours on my bike or hiking. I’m thinking the folks who designed the fitness aspects didn’t fully communicate to the battery folks or vice versa. Seriously bummed, since I’d been looking forward to moving on from my series 0 watch that I got the first week it was available, way back in ancient history.

I am dying to know what shape your legs are in lol DAMN! that is a lot of riding. I ride 6.2 miles (3.1 miles in the morning and 3.1 in the evening), 5 times a week and I am exhausted by the end of the week.

Do you wear your current watch on your rides now? Granted, you aren't tracking via GPS, but do you track the workout for time?

Thank you! Just one more question - can I pay off the financing early (in say 6 months) and own the phone outright?

It is a bank like any other... you can pay it off right after you open it, but that would kind of defeat the purpose. But in your case, yes, you can totally pay it off early.

I am still in limbo on the XS Max, but if I do not go for it, I will probably say screw it and pay off the X 6-9 months early also and call it a day.

Love my Space Black S2, but thinking of going Stainless Steel for my Series 4. Anyone else making the switch from Space Black to Stainless Steel?

Yes it will open right at xx:01.

I would stay with what you have. The stainless steel picks up more visible nicks on the body in my opinion.

Probably none
math time: ~45 mil ipads/macs sold in 2017 divided by 525600 minutes = ~85 units per minute. not too bad.

overall, Apple makes $127 million per day or $5.2 million per hour. assuming store brings in half the revenue, that's $2.6million per an hour. for 6 hours, that's $15.6 million dollars Apple is losing by shutting down the store worldwide.

For what? The ability to deploy site changes without taking down the site? It’s incredibly simple and a standard deployment scenario for many companies.

Stop being logical... These are Apple fanboys you're talking to!!

I see the usual crowd is here. "Apple Store doesn't need to go down." "I'm not doing it this time, too expensive." "Not enough of an upgrade." "What a stupid name."

I haven't noticed any "Wait and let the early adopters work all the bugs out" notices yet. But I'm sure they are there!

The “this was the worst launch ever” crowd is outside warming up for their big performance I’m sure.

Question: do I have to keep force-quitting the App Store app to get it to refresh at 3:01? Or will everything just re-appear at the time?

I’m going for the big SS with Milanese loop. Was gonna go Black SS but decided against it.

Was talking to my friends who own a iPhone SE. They were really disappointed that there wasn't a newer version. They don't want the larger 7 model.
This!
My wife's 5s is getting bothersome, so knowing what her particular needs are (she's not a heavy user), I was able to order an SE through ATT for her as she does not like the larger formats. She will have a new phone with warranty that will still take a few more software upgrades.
I'm not crazy about the new phones, especially the pricing and since I also prefer the smaller screens, I have ordered an iPhone 8. Since, IMHO, that Apple has had some QC issues, I no longer buy anything new upon release. So, as much as I want the new Apple watch, I will wait for things to shake out. At this time my S0 is still working fine. I can wait a month or so as I think supply will then be adequate and any possible/potential issues will be resolved.

And, yes! I think Apple not retaining a smaller format is a mistake. Of course with these new 'phablets' I think the iPad mini is doomed.

Not preordering this year. Gonna just wait and get the Max probably next month. Other than the bigger size (which I do want), there’s really no significant difference between the 10 and 10S. Weakest “S” upgrade Apple has done IMO

I've got three browsers open full screen to the Apple Store, each in a different space on my MBP. My iPhone is ready with the Apple Store app open. Preorder XS on the iPhone while ordering a 44mm SS and 40mm AL on the MBP.

Time to take a two hour power nap.

I'm a little confused about something. When I prepared for pre-order, it gave me the chance to choose a carrier and it also gave me the option to choose "No Carrier".

If I chose Verizon, who I'm currently with, is that phone locked? I thought that all the phones bought through the upgrade program were unlocked and that they only ask you to choose a carrier so that it is ready to go when it arrives without needing to do a lot of activation.

If that is the case, then why is there a "No Carrier" option?

it's about the sim that's included more than anything else.
