most software tho now runs windows

Not nearly to the extent that Windows dominated marketshare 10-20 years ago. Many more applications now are cross platform Win/macOS/Linux than in the past.

... like apple stopped the great aputure for the crap photos for kids

Still using Aperture here, while Photos capability ramps up, as well as DxO Pro. Still haven't found an adequate replacement for Aperture's DAM capability, but Lightroom ain't it.

After literally decades of using Adobe products, I'm dumping their applications one by one as other vendors come up with equal or better options.

and now they wants ppl to use Lightroom and so apple doesn't have any use anymore

No, they noted that Lightroom was an option during the transition between Aperture and Photos. It's nowhere close to being the only show in town, nor close to being the best option, either.

final cut isn't what pros use its adobee prem, so now windows seems to be winning and my 2015 MacBook Pro with and graphics in bootcamp they haven't updated drivers in months its so poor

Sure thing. You need to cultivate a wider range of "pros".

You mean Microsoft's surface studio? Here's my impression of how critics would receive the Surface Studio if instead it was Apple introducing it:

"Hm... Let's see it's got one of the most expensive (1) starting prices for a consumer desktop. For that price you get MOBILE graphics and fixed memory inside of a sealed box. So (2) it's not upgradeable. It's a "throw away" computer. Sure, the hockey puck and 5K articulating drawing screen are fancy, but you can build a PC with way better hardware and (3) graphics and a cintiq for less that upgradeable. And at a starting price of $3,000 why the heck isn't the hockey puck included? And why is it running old 6th gen skylake procs when 7th gen kaby lake procs are just coming out. Bad move. Should have waited.

No thank you. Just another hipster computer designed to separate fools from their money."

That said, for me, of course, the deal killer is that the Surface Studio runs Windows 10. Perhaps that's desirable or a benefit to others. But, not to me.

1. It's not a consumer desktop and not sure where did you get that idea from. This is specifically for professionals that NEED this tech to get the job better. **** $4K (better version) is NOTHING and I'm pre-ordering two of those because my designers literally begged me for them the second the finished watching the promo and reading the review on Penny Arcade . They use $2700 Cintiq right now and they needed another 1K PC to go with it. So how is that $4K price a lot? LULZ.

2. We do not know that yet unless I missed something.

3. Cintiq ALONE (just a screen FYI) is $2700. You need to do some research cause you clearly have no clue what is that you are talking about.

Surface Studio is not a MB"PRO" for shopping and facebook. It's for people that use them to make $$$. And we all looove $$ so my team can have as many as they want. I might get one too just for the cool factor :)

Stop yanking on about freaking iPhone and iOS, to pad time! Reveal the bloody Macbook Pros!

People are watching for the laptops..

14 minutes and counting into a presentation ostensibly about Macs … and no mention thereof—NOT a good sign.

Tim Cook really likes to cake it on. "Amazing, Great, Incredible, the best, ..." It's grating. Let the products speak for themselves.. show.. don't tell.

Yup. Steve never talked like this. The products actually talked for themselves. This is why I predict Apple will be gone in no more than 6 months.

hmmm on my mbp, imac and mini apple website stream isnt working.. any ideas??

just got stuck at the front page and thats it.. on safari.. help?

Imagine how big it could be if they put any kind of effort into it...

Apple only has about 5% of the computer market. How about taking some of the 95% they don't have? They are leaving tens of billions on the table while 60% of the total revenue of the company depends on a single product that exists in a finicky market.

Amazing.

The computer market is also finicky. Not too many people are keen on spending $1,300 on a laptop... which is the average price of a Mac laptop.

If you're wondering why Apple doesn't have much computer market share... it's because the other guys are selling Windows laptops for $300. That kinda screws up the balance, huh.

Also remember... Apple has NEVER had a lot of computer market share during their 40 years of selling computers.

So I don't think increasing their "share" is a top priority.

Dell only has 16% of the market... why aren't you asking them why they haven't taken the other 84% yet? :)

The average retail price of windows laptops is about $700. For mac laptops its actually about $1500. I get it, Apple doesn't really care about lower profit margin items, but they have a lot of medium even medium-high end ground beneath that $1500 that they don't cover particularly well. Maybe today will change that? Doubt it, but who knows.

Discosure: I'm perfect happy paying $2000 for a kick ass laptop that lasts 3-4 years.

Called it! Butterfly keyboard "2.0" with more feedback.
[doublepost=1477590021][/doublepost]Interesting that the screen has the word "Surface" on it. Subtle dig at Microsoft?
[doublepost=1477590153][/doublepost]Too bad they couldn't get it under 3lbs.

**** ...

2x times larger track-pad, and now plus touch-bar, so why the **** 2x times larger track-pad NOW ? :DD
I prefer KEYS much more :/ (in general, good Macbook Pro, ESPECIALLY 3.1 GB/s SSD!) WOW! :)))

Will they have touchbar available on an external keyboard for those of us who use MacBooks in clamshell mode? That is the question.
