So now, pressing the home button (I assume that is the button you are referring to) wakes my phone up and allows me to read my notifications without unlocking the phone. Then I slide to unlock.

How do you press the home button to unlock without dismissing the notifications before you get a chance to read them? One press? Two presses? Multiple presses on the home button aren't exactly responsive and accurate.

Press it with a different finger?

Pick it up as it has raise wake?

Press the side button as it rests on the desk?

Those are the 3 best ways in iOS 10

I don't mind it personally since I use Touch ID. I never slid to unlock anyway once that became a feature.
On my iPad in iOS 10, I have to press it a second time to unlock after it has read the fingerprint.

When the buttons is one of the first things to go in the phone, yes, it is. Home button pressing should be limited not multiplied.

In all the years since I have had an iPhone, 2008 to be exact, I have never had any issues with the home buttons.

Not to mention, press to open can be turned off and it turns it to "Rest Finger to Open"

Interesting, I can stream the event on my PC using Windows 10 with Edge. That will be the first time I use Edge willfully.

I am waiting for Tim Cook (yikes) to announce the new Kitchen Stand Mixer from Apple!

Seems like Apple's opening their supported browsers up on which to watch the live stream..... Never thought Edge of all browsers be one of them...

I was surprised when Apple supported desktop version of IE as well... Particually IE was canned from OS in early life.

Another must have. I don't understand thus obsession Apple has to change things. Leave them be.

If you have to press the home button each time, and can no longer simply swipe glass, you can potentially have a higher failure rate of the button. That will churn iPhones and repair components. Glass doesn't wear out so this may help in a small amount, keep iPhone sales a little higher. Decent theory anyway, planned obsolescence.

The new requirement may be: a web browser that doesn't support Flash.

LOL...
That plastic fake robot from the 80s.
Not bad for its time, but useless without line-of-sight.
It was more like a wireless-puppet than a robot.

New Mac Pro! New Mac Pro!

...are you hearing me Timmy?!

Disclaimer: I am aware that tonight is most likely about iToys
The professionals who want a new PacPro do not jump and cheer about it. They do their research and get it. You are just someone who is excisted about a possible poduct you will never ever buy. And are paying out the iOS devices. Mac Pro customers do not need meedia conferences. They will talk to their apple representative/advisor they ahve hired for all the nfo they need.

I will not buy a Mac Pro either. I'm not a business professional who needs one.

Had two button issues in five phones. Also, nice to see that you can revert back to the way it was in iOS 10 as of right now. I'll have to look at it when I get home since only my iPad is in the beta program.

Are you asking or telling, because I don't have iOS 10 yet so I can't weigh in one way or the other.

I don't know if people are predicting price increases... But Apple can justify keeping the same price because of what you are getting.. Double the storage space along compared to that same price point a year ago. Better cameras, an whatever other features that will be iPhone 7 exclusive

Right. But you can get a "plus" sized phone, the same 32gb storage and expansion capability, Nougut operating system and lots of other good specs for $399 in Android world this month and if my guess about Android phone pricing is right, for $299 in about six months. I know Apple has held the line on PC pricing against low price competition. And I've never been one to say that Apple needs to make a cheaper PC. But Microsoft was not as good as Google at making a good OS and the PC manufacturers were not as good as the Android manufacturers at making comparable hardware.

A few people on this board are predicting a price in crease for the Plus size and with the thought that 32 gb storage will decrease the percentage of people who decide to upgrade to the next storage tier. Let's see. I just wonder if $100 price difference between the two 7 phones is going to stand considering you get size, camera and RAM increase. And if Apple wants to spread the price difference, can they start Plus at $799?

Probably marketing trick as it can all be done dynamically - Yes for something like this you might want to take the page down for a few moments to swap everything but it doesn't take hours.

It probably helps stop people also buying something and then within moments asking for a refund
That's what I think since prices are going to change for certain models too.

Did they do this for the media event last time? I know it went down before pre-orders but I can't recall if they did this last year also.

I think I watched the WWDC keynote directly in the browser on Windows 10, no VLC required. But I could be remembering it wrong. It used to be Safari only for Windows users, but when they scrapped Safari on Windows they let other browsers in. Unless I dreamt it all? I will have to check when I get home.

You are correct, you can stream using the Edge browser on Windows 10.

The Canadian store will certainly get a major work-over to jack those prices more in line with the current exchange rate - brace yourself people - this new iPhone is going to be pricey in Canadian $$$.
