2 years ago Apple said they would move away from Intel w/in 2 years. Only 1 product hasn’t yet.

My money is on a Mac Pro being introduced today to complete the transition. Also hoping a new MacBook Air is released, that’s my next purchase for a college kid.

AR Mac VMs. That is my completely baseless guess on what will be announced. Pay $3k for the AR headset and you can sign up for a subscription to access a Mac VM through it.

As for a real reaction: stop trying to make white bezels a thing. They look awful.

New hardware is always exciting, don’t get me wrong, but some people think apple is going to parade out multiple products and they are going to be VERY disappointed. I expect 2022 MacBook Air and a Mac Pro preview and that’s it. I’m merely trying to preempt the wailing and gnashing of teeth by those who expect too much from Apple. Always happy to be pleasantly surprised.

I'm expecting the same, with the addition of hopefully seeing a new XDR display announced alongside the new Mac Pro. Maybe a M2 Mac Mini?

Doubtful of this: but it would be cool to see an Intel refreshed MP kick alongside an AS MP for a little longer. Still curious how Apple will scale an AS MP to a Xeon system but I guess we shall see.

What if it was only down for maintenance and no new hardware was released. Oh, we would be laughing.
I’ve got the inside scoop. They’re taking down the store to add new emoji personalization options. I know! Can not fricking wait! 🎉🎉🎉

seeing rumors the re-designed Air is going to still have M1

would that be a deal breaker for you guys? a re-packaged late 2020 Air in a new form?

I would hope its an M1 extra at minimum or an M2 by now. Even with Apple Silicon being impressive

Like the good ol' days... :D

In case anyone has made that comment... Amazon has a ton of placeholder listings. It gets really annoying. I'll relate a semi-personal story about this.

One of my colleagues is a well-known academic in the field I work in. I was at a dinner with this guy, and another colleague sitting at the table congratulated him on his new book. That was met with a blank look.

Colleague 2: "Hey, congrats on getting that new book published!"
Colleague 1: "What new book?"
C2: "Your new textbook."
C1: "Huh?!?"
C2: "Your new edition for your XYZ textbook."
C1: "What are you talking about? It's not out yet, and won't be out for quite some time."
C2: "Well, it's already listed on Amazon."
C1" "That's news to me, since we haven't even finished writing it yet."

So Amazon had a placeholder for this book before it was even completed, and it was several YEARS later before it was actually sold at Amazon.
I work in the publishing industry and can actually say that this wasn't the fault of Amazon but the publishing company. Amazon gets information directly from a central system which publishers release information to. At my company we do this around 3 months before release but it can be done earlier or later. This can actually impact other retailers too that receive information from the centralised system.

Chances are someone in their marketing team (most likely as they handle the 'going to sale' elements) accidentally 'pushed' out the record - this has happened in my team - and there's literally no way to get it back.

From what I read the M1 is still fast enough for several years usage in many consumer and professional environments. Personally I'd still buy it, but I wouldn't want to do it right now when an updated MBA, however this will then actually look like, is on the horizon.
