Releasing computers would probably boost their computer sales.
Or at least changing the marketing to better suite the age of the hardware...

Yep, no wonder. Apple hasn't paid much attention to the Mac. Just look at the Buyer's Guide on MR and it's pretty depressing how outdated across the board all Macs are. Pretty embarrassing IMO.

I said it once I'll said it again. Apple no longer cares about Macs.

I've moved on to a company who's bread and butter depends on selling up to date computers when their customers need them.

We had a good run Apple but I can no longer count on you. I'm stuck buying years old models with 3 year old CPU's at today's new prices. I can't do business that way.

At least they can do is drop the price to reflect outdated tech. But margins...

Way for Apple to respond to this is to release a barrage of new Mac models in Mini, Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro that make us want to buy. Each of the five flavors has their own niche and Apple's been holding back enhancements for each one's strengths.

Mac Pro needs to recapture it's old position as best expansion model. Mini is the server for small needs but it is waiting for expansion capability again.

iMac - would be nice if the hardware allowed memory updating again and SSD updates too; it is plenty thin.

Mac laptops - I'm sure Apple has plenty to roll out. Do it.

I'm down to my last Apple product, my 2009 Mac Pro. iPhone 6 gone, replaced by Nexus 6p, AppleTV gone, replaced by Nvidia Shield TV, MacBook gone, replaced by Chromebook Pixel, Apple 27 inch display - bye bye, replaced with LG Ultra Wide display.

As soon as the desktop dies, that's it - I'm done. And no I'm not paying $3,000 for 2013 tech! What the hell happened to this company?

Many of those in the waiting for skylake MBP megathread have been waiting well over a year (i'm almost at this point myself). Its hard, currently running on a 2010 17" and planning to buy a maxed out 2016 MBP, 32 GB Ram hopefully, and I can't buy the 2015 because I already have USB-C/USB 3.1 Gen 2 devices (works fine with USB-A adapter, and prices for enclosures are comparable), so this is the first time i've had usable tech on my desk with nothing to plug it into, not even an option, mac wise atleast.

NO apple i'm not updating to the iPhone 7 (6S.5, whatever you want to call it), that money is for a new mac.
NO apple i'm not taking a measly $100 discount through best buy or a free pair of headphones in order to drop $2500 on outdated, old kit.
YES even I, a staunch MBP fan, am willing to look at alternatives. However my previous MBPs have served me very well so I let this one slide.

And while i'm ranting:
The nMP is being neglected and abused.
The iMac 2015 should've had TB3 ports.
The MB should've had a TB3 port (perhaps waiting for built in connectivity with Kaby Lake).
The Mac Mini should have the quad core skylakes supposedly destined for the MBP (i7-6770HQ).

Apple helped create Thunderbolt (even owned the trademark before handing it to Intel) and we can't even get a TB3 mac close to the end of 2016
are
you
kidding
me?
its like they ignored the emails about TB3 development or just didn't care

Apple is lucky that Windows is kind of a disaster, or I feel like switching would be closer to a no-brainer.

I'm getting closer and closer. I never thought I'd go back to Windows. I need a pro desktop & I can't justify $3,000 for 2013 tech gear. Heck, I don't think I'd be able to justify $1,000 - not with what's offered by the competition.

So surprising that selling pathetic outdated tech AND at insultingly overpriced prices leads to this.

Nah. It surprising that number is almost flat. Who in their right mind is buying what is really 2 year old tech under the hood with a 1 year old gimmicky track pad? Even the deals of $200-$300 off right now are not a deal.

release a new mac pro and I will buy it today.

as long as apple doesn't support custom multi-GPU additions like having 2,3 or 4 GTX 1080 cards in one workstation build, i think this company is only an option for laptops on the go, iPhone or other mainstream products. As a long time Apple users (1984) I do not understand that Apple doesn't open up the opportunities for small, medium and large design businesses to customize their Apple Pro products as they wish.

I am annoyed as hell to work on a windows driven workstation, but when I do 3d renders, video animation, 3 or 4 time GPU power is unbeatable.

It's not a disaster at all. I keep debating on throwing the money burning a hole in my savings at w WinPC again. There's some great stuff out there.

Windows 10 is fantastic. It's the trying to coerce people on Win7/8 to upgrade that is not even a disaster, just a bit much. That's it's only issue. I throw up in my mouth every time I say it, but I actually enjoy Windows again. I just wish MS had better stock apps like Apple. iLife/iTunes (even the bloated mess that still is) are so much better than Windows. Considering how little I use iMovie or Garage band anymore, not much of a reason to stay.

Patiently waiting... LOL

Its been 6 years since I've been waiting for a MacPro that can boost my render speeds over my mid level 2010 12 core machine. For the first time in my life, I'm eyeing Dell's Xeon E5v4 models (up to 44 cores). I usually upgrade our systems every 2 years. Apple has missed out on three upgrade cycles from our company alone and its soon to lose another Apple evangelist for good. I already sold my stock as I no longer believe in this Apple. Just another phone company, and we know where they end up. 20 days and counting for me.

Good stats for those who keep defending Tim Cook as an amazing CEO.

The evidence is starting to mount.

First Apple stops innovating, which then leads to crappy products, and now we see market shares decline... It really is time for him to go!

The board needs to oust him as soon as possible before it's too late!

Especially the MacBook Air, people don't buy a $999 laptop in 2016 and expect to get a 1440x900 display straight out of 2010. It should be dropped to $799 for the 13", or simply discontinued.

Welllll best buy is running a sale, 13" latest model for $750. I agree its not bad at that price.
