Lol it's time to let it go.….. the mini crowd is just getting sad now

I'm definitely holding on to my 16PM until the 20th anniversary iPhone... All screen sounds great!
That’s what I’m doing with my iPhone 15pro and this is the least likable of any  product I’ve owned because of the battery. May just use  care To get a “new” one to hold me over.

Anyone complaining about the absence of compact phones should just buy the upcoming foldables. No excuse then. Candybar compacts don't sell.

The problem is most people don't want all the compromises that come with a foldable phone. Thus why they aren't big sellers in the Android world.

The popularity of the standard candybar models this year shows that consumers don't want or need a massive redesign. The occasional chassis shift and spec bump is really all that is needed in terms of hardware. Some people think phones are currently boring but then, beyond internal spec bumps and a thinner chassis the basic design of a laptop hasn't changed since the original Titanium Powerbook over 20 years ago and nobody bats an eyelid at that.

If they really want to push innovation in the 'personal communication' space then they need to concentrate on getting an Apple Watch out the door with a helpful AI assistant in tow that gives you 18 hours battery with 5G on all day. All the benefits, none of the addictive qualities and swipe-theft-proof in the process.

Apple plans to launch a new type of iPhone every year for the foreseeable future, according to an Asia-based source.
And all those "innovations" are also coming from Asia, specifically from Asian companies and/or Asian engineers.
The flip phones are simply niche products that don't sell well.

iPhone Pro Mini :)
Maybe the Anniversary phone will be a "smaller" phone hopefully. I doubt it will be Mini sized but hopefully we see it 6.1"ish at the most. I'm hoping it will be 5.8" to 6.1", fully rounded sides like the X and 11, with a weight of less than 6 ounces. Now that would be a great phone and fitting to be a special edition Anniversary edition.

Hopefully they are learning and adjusting from how it's going with the Air right now.

I have to imagine it's raising a few internal alarms and perhaps causing some reevaluation on future design choices and tradeoffs for various models.
That's unfortunate. I really like the iPhone Air.
