And is what keeps the Anti-trust people at bay IMHO... the share of the market that MacOS has is not large enough to get them interested. And this is why Apple only has a marketshare of 10% in units...

When you count everything in Apple is not that expensive. As if Apple is the only manufacturer updating their line.
Now, for the real question...
Where is the champion Microsoft on the table?
Is this the Microsoft’s heat from the Surface? Are people asking for touchscreens or not? Is a $6 dollar USB-C to USB-A adapter (set of 2 obvs.) from Amazon a problem for people buying $2000 computers?
Don’t tell me Microsoft is having problems making people part with the cash, because Apple, the expensive one, clearly isn’t!
I am soooooo excited about the incoming MacBook Pro 15 with 32 GB ram. It has been my dream to have MacBook Pro 15" with 32 GB ram. Finally, my dream is going to come true. Kudos to Apple and thanks so much to Apple for listening the loyal customers. Love Apple!! Apple is the best company with the best and most secured products in the world.
Make no mistake 90% of those 90% percent weren't made consciously.I can see that we're going to be split into 2 camps here:
Apple gained marketshare so the whiners were wrong and the new Macs are the best ever...
or
Everyone else gained marketshare so Apple still failed.
Apple gaining 1% marketshare from last quarter is great, no question, as it is a niche product.
But make no mistake, still 90% of the market chose something else last quarter, and the one before, and the one before...
Still doesn't make me want to buy one of Apples new insanely-overpriced models. When my 2015 (I think) MBP finally stops working I guess I'll have a decision to make. Hopefully that decision doesn't involve a silly emoji bar.

Surface sales sinking and Mac laptops soaring.
Huge FAIL of The Verge reviewers and MR forum vocal minorities.
No, we are talking about computers that cost 1000+ Eur and no one just buys those randomly. There has to be intent and a reason, whereas pc market is different story. So YOU say. This is not a $0.99 cent app we're talking about here.
They choose something else... in which market segment? In the segments Apple chooses to compete in? Hardly.
Apple is winning hands down in PCs, at it basically owns the only profitable market segment. A 1% market share increase, when the only segment Apple competes in is the high end, is huge in terms of revenue and profits.

As someone who owns a 2016 15" rMBP with the TouchBar, the answer to that is still "not much". After the better part of a year, most developers still do have no good ideas how to put that thing to proper use. Even for emojis, you probably are better off to use the old symbol palette.
Or if you want to use OS X you have no choice but what Apple offers...so you just suck it up and buy the hardware required.
Use some common sense, dude, and stop that pretend act.Sorry, Apple is losing in the segment they compete in, which is the segment (bundled in by the report) that includes all other PC manufacturers.
But as I indicated in a previous post, this doesn't mean that they're not profitable. It all depends on how you look at these things. From Apple's perspective, the quarter was a success. I said this and don't contest it.
But from an overall perspective, Apple has ALL the way to go. Most people are still choosing something else. Dell, Lenovo, and HP all gained more marketshare on the same quarter than Apple did. Dell gained almost DOUBLE. You can't cherry pick what's reported.
So, as I said before, Apple did good, but others did better.

Hmm, I missed the part in the report that broke the numbers down like that.
How are you getting your numbers?
I bought one - my first MacBook ever, in fact. I came from owning Surfaces for the past few years and smiled every time I saw people complaining they only had 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports when I only had 1 USB-A and a mini display port.i thought no one was buying high priced new macbooks ?
Use some common sense, dude, and stop that pretend act.
Current laptops are great, i don't know what's the big deal.Dam apple is to proud of a company. I secretly wanted the mac sales to go down that way apple knows we consumers ain't taking their **** with under spec, overpriced laptops. Oh well, I'll try again next year.
Really wanted to replace my 2011 Mbps but I think I'll just change the battery and make it last another year
It does .. it did. It was silly emoji bar or one USB-what port instead of 4, and even worse performance. I got the emoji bar and the feel-less keyboard with arrow keys the size of rice grains. The current macbook pros are awful, they compromise on every facet of usability and I wish they'd never made them and I wish my old MBP hadn't failed to the point it had to be replaced. I have never bought a worse Apple product than the touchbar MBP.Still doesn't make me want to buy one of Apples new insanely-overpriced models. When my 2015 (I think) MBP finally stops working I guess I'll have a decision to make. Hopefully that decision doesn't involve a silly emoji bar.
Compared to the previous quarter or the same quarter last year?
It doesn't make much sense to compare to the previous quarter as the sales are very seasonal.
