I hope the camera is the same as the OLED phones and they do jet black.

Really? I just got my X the other day and coming from a 6Plus. I was like wow this is small:eek:
I have a minimal case on mine and was thinking maybe I need add a case that offers drop protection to make it a little bigger fitting in my hand

Guess everybody is different:)

Why I didnt upgrade, X was too uncomfortable for me to hold.

6.1" and 6.5" screen size math:

EDIT: Nevermind. For some reason, my math was not taking bezel in to account and it doesn't seem to add up. I will correct later.

Ashame if true. They should all have the same specs across the board. I think 6.1” would be a perfect size to replace iPhone Plus sized phones. Although I assume the 6.5” Plus model will probably have the same footprint as the current 7 Plus/8 Plus.

Can't do the notch. Not even a little bit. Total deal killer.
Eliminating 8 sensors/transducers is a phone killer. And if they were going to make a full width bezel they would have done it this year.

Unfortunately for those who don’t like it, the notch is not going away for the foreseeable future. But I’m sure it will get narrower and shorter over the next generations.

I'm hoping they don't make features exclusive to the largest phone. I much prefer the size of X to the Pluses I've owned. I don't want to upsize my phone again to get a better camera or something of that nature.

SE X = March, 2020

The SE2 will look like a smaller iPhone 8 with 7 specs. Apple will not undercut their 7 & 8 series.

By March 2020, the X design will get so tiresome, some would stop caring if the SE3 looks like it or not.

6.5" iPhone = same height as Note8

6.1" iPhone = same height as S7 edge or Note7

5.8" iPhone = same as current one at 143-144 mm

This LCD iPhone will be the first and only one of 2018 that is based on the X-front that could offer a metal back.

Blame Samsung for the X markup and blame Apple for making recipes but not knowing how to cook it themselves. That OLED is the main reason why prices went up and to recoup some of the R&D expenses for Face ID.

I'm really not even into iOS and Apple needs to make some drastic changes with iOS' Control Center and tethering to make me go back to iPhone as a daily driver. My main qualms with iPhone X has been software.

I'll probably go with the Pixel 3 next year and stay on that product line for as long as I can the same way people annually upgrade to the newest iPhone. But for my money, the 6.1" iPhone if it retains the SoC of the OLED ones is the one to get.

Glass rears = fragile

Not paying $1000+ for fragility and an overrated OLED tech and wireless charging that have been around for many years now.

This metal material could be Liquidmetal which unlike aluminum, would be able to wirelessly charge the iphone.
Stop with liquid metal please. It was good for a SIM tool at one time.

Recipes and cooking are unrelated to capital investment and startup costs.

A 6.1 inch "Low-cost" phone does not make sense to me. A low-cost phone in my mind would by default be smaller than the current X, and more of a successor to SE - which would have a sizable market.

What other differences between the "low cost" 6.1 incher and regular cost 5.8 incher besides LCD and metal back? A lot of people don't even OLED and/or wireless charging. If they put the same camera in the low cost models as other ones, make it bezeless, it would cannibalize the other phones a bit too much.

RE: "The 6.1-inch LCD model has thus far been described by Kuo as a lower-resolution model ..."

As an App Developer, I'm curious as to what the Resolution might be ... has anybody given it serious thought ?

To developers, Apple promoted the X as having a 375-pt width in Portrait, same as the 4.7" models.

The X rendered at 3x, the 4.7" devices rendered at 2x.

What happens if we simply drop the 20/23 Downscale (from the 5.5" devices) ??? in other words, if 1242 x 2208 w/o the 20/23 Downscale, what size display does that correlate to ??? ... 1.13 x 5.5" = 6.215" ???

Not a fan of the rounded edges of the iPhone 6 and up designs. Definitely like the iPhone 4 / 5 / SE design. Loving my SE, and hope that Apple has the wisdom to keep this form factor in the lineup.

Okay, but how does the rest of the iPhone lineup fit in?
Will there be an iPhone 9?

iPhone X Plus (6.5”)
iPhone X (5.8”)
iPhone 9? (6.1)

Yes, I suspect there will be a 9 in the lineup next year to fill that gap. The X is an entirely product line, so I see Apple having 3 iPhone designs... SE, 9 and X.

As for the Roman numeral "X" naming convention, not sure where Apple will go with that, but don't expect an Xs ("excess") next year. :p

As if one phone with a notch wasn't bad enough. Now we'll have three. Awesome. My G-d they are so stubborn. Who cares if the X had looked like Android counterparts with minimal bezels. I don't walk around and judge people based on what phone they have and couldn't care less what phone they have / whether or not they "stand out." I'd love the LG V30 or Pixel 2 XL with iOS. And sign me up for a 6.1" phone with a LOWER resolution. Again, awesome. Smh.
