I will never understand why Chrome is so high, it's an awful browser. For a company that does leetcode interviews you'd think they'd be able to make their browser know to refresh a saved password once it's changed.
Wow, Windows 98 is considered a good release?Windows 11 follows MSFT's tried and true Good/Bad cycle

Oh, I don't know... maybe having some RAM free for other programs?but what enticement is there for me to drop chrome? There's less and less reasons
Nope, not enough of an enticement - I mean, it was that important, we'd see people leaving in droves, but nope, not happening.Oh, I don't know... maybe having some RAM free for other programs?
I don't remember people hating 95 or loving 10, but everything else is understandableWindows 11 follows MSFT's tried and true Good/Bad cycle

Edge had a decent reputation at one point, but in my opinion, Microsoft is killing it out of greed.

Fair.We liked 10 because it was better than Windows 8. Of course, a swift kick in the head is better than Windows 8, so it was a very low bar.
MS pushes the Edge Browser crazy hard on Windows desktops. Virtually every time you update the OS there will be a full-screen takeover trying to get you to change your default browser and search engine. Last time I looked at a relative's computer there was also a random interactive Bing search bar overlaid on top of the desktop wallpaper.
I used to work with chrome because unlike many here I can't work only on macs, so a cross-platform browser is mandatory.I’m just astonished there are people using Edge! I’m guessing it’s made up of MicroSoft employees and masochists… and there’s probably a high degree of overlap there![]()
Wipr IMHO is better than AdGuard for ad blocking.I use Safari, Chrome and Firefox daily—but Safari is my main browser. On occasion it has its quirks, but it's a solid browser. The WebKit team have been working at an incredible pace to add features in the past two years. Each 'point' update has been full-featured.
Here's my list of the best Safari extensions if you plan to use it daily:
* Stop the Madness (Currently half price)
* AdGuard (Free, hands down the best content blocker)
* Noir (Dark mode styles for sites)
Also worth nothing that Orion is currently development, which uses WebKit, but also has support for Firefox and Chrome extensions.
Chromium Edge was great when it first came out. Chromium browsers are just more compatible with the Internet, hands down. Using Safari or Firefox you will eventually hit a website that just does not work. At first it is ok, but then it happens again and again.I used to work with chrome because unlike many here I can't work only on macs, so a cross-platform browser is mandatory.
I still don't get why Apple can't put the effort into reliable Windows applications, it would serve them as a driving force towards their own hardware... but no they keep making things complicated for their users.
Anyways, Chrome is such a power hog that I tried to get back to Firefox but this thing also became an unnecessary white elephant. Other browsers are cute but always end up breaking a tool or a site I'm using.
Then I tried Edge.
What a hidden gem this thing is. It has all the Chrome functionality with the extensions, way better power management and I find it more pleasing to the eye. It also integrates very well with all the tools I'm using.
I get that for strictly mac users it isn't the best safari competitor, but as soon as you need to go cross platform it's among the best solutions.
