Yeah but that doesn't mean they will cater to that misguided consumer "want". Apple knows better based on usability studies.

Exactomondo my friend :)

People think that going out and buying an iPod, suddenly activates a hidden "insight" into Apple's long-term strategy and ethos.

LOL... go back to sleep folks - none of us know what Apple know, so refrain from idiocy.

Still I think Apple are idiots to not provide a higher-storage iPod Touch. I for one would buy it.

"idiots"? LOL... possibly a bit of an exaggeration?

Here's a thought; you can't listen to ALL your songs at once - how many could you possible "need" all on one device, at once? You've heard of iCloud and a computer - you can always erase and copy the songs - they're not indelibly carved into the cells of the NAND.

iCloud is useless for a disconnected iPod Touch. So what I've been forced to do is create a playlist with the artists that I think I'll be interested in for the next few months. So if I left off an artist and suddenly I was in the mood for that, then I'm SOL. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"?

You're ONE customer... companies tend to design around the majority usage patterns.

"The customer" would imply the collective, not one singular customer. Design your own iPod, or move onto something more fulfilling than moaning about your music collection... possibly? LOL

Sorry bud :)

The hypocricy of your statement is rather large.

According to Apple's research - customers want a larger phone. Now you're debating that this poster is just one customer and that companies tend to design around the majority of usage patterns.

Do you not see how conflicted you are?

You like getting the last word? Good, so reply and watch me not respond. Your opinion of my views != actuality.

Have a lovely day.

Did you forget to mention last time you used it was 3-4 years ago?

Nope, they're bang on - it's utter junk. No, that's not compared to iOS or any other OS, that's based upon my desire for logical, intuitive design, none of which Google are able to get right, EVER. Android is a joke - the sound schemes are appalling and cringe-inducing... it lacks quality, as ALL Google products lack quality.

I use Android 4.4 every day on phone/tablet and it's one of the best OSes I've ever used in my life. I don't know what the haters are going on about except spreading FUD.

Now I was disappointed that:

* Bluetooth quick toggle only takes you to the settings page instead of acting as a real toggle
* No sound profiles, needed to download an app for that

Now I don't like Google's privacy practices, but that doesn't take away from their engineering brilliance.

It is absolutely not utter junk. You certainly aren't allowed to state your opinion as fact. Google design looks absolutely amazing but you just have an agenda against Google.

Agreed. There are lot of things to bang on Google for, but the Android 4.4 UI is not one of them. Hey you can also download the Nova Launcher if you don't like the stock launcher. Isn't choice great? :D

Uhm hold on... I never stated it as "fact" - that seems to be your pre-supposition. I formed a comment, an opinion... do with it as you wish, interpret it as such if you want to, that's your free will, but you can't change my views - keep trying if you want, that would be a waste of time... am I to be discredited the right to hold an opinion... hmmm? :)

Fair enough. I just feel that if you use KitKat for more then 5 minutes you will love the design. I find Android to now be far more consistent design wise and I'm shocked as 2-3 years back I would have never been able to say that.

The ironic thing for myself is that I had originally bought an iPhone 4 in September 2010 only to return it on Antenna-gate grounds the next day. Then I thought I was interested in the first Nexus phone but I couldn't bite on the cost of the monthly plan. Then Windows Phone came out a bit later and I was intrigued. I decided at that point to wait for an acceptable Windows Phone and I got the Nokia Lumia 900 in April 2012(finally I join the ranks). Then I upgrade to a Lumia 920 in April 2013. Then the Nexus 5 comes out at the end of October and *boom* I finally had a Google Nexus phone that I'm rocking to this day. However I had already gotten into the Android ecosystem through the 2nd gen Nexus 7 that I bought in August. I have to say that my initial KitKat experience was on par with my initial iOS experience with the iPad(August 2010). Very magical and I still love it. Once WP8.1 comes out I can update my L920 and rock that for a while again. Why not play around with different devices and ecosystems if you can?

I have had TWO Moto G phones, both came on 4.4.2, for over a month - I sold one last night, and one was a gift from Motorola. I use them as a means to an end, but that doesn't mean I like the phone, nor does it mean I "hate" it (ugh, what a simplistic thought pattern), but I do think Android is... okay, not "junk", but laughably primitive and unintuitive, but for way more specific and fine-grained reasons than could be summarised in a quick-fire forum post. With the utmost respect, the majority of members are not development-inclined, so I am not going to waste details on the low-level design strategy cock-ups of using Java, thread safe UI/UX etc (with respect, I do not know who you are, I hope you don't take offence :) )

I've used KitKat probably way before most consumer Android owners got the upgrade... it's better (I think?) but I still dislike Google and their TOTAL lack of ability to get something fixed... after HOW MANY YEARS?!

Google "Ron Amadeo" - he works for an Android site, but do you think he defends it like it is his wife? He is honest... but whatever... I'm not him, and I think it's a very poor show - doesn't surprise me though, as it's expected for Google and quality product to be polar opposites - they just haven't a clue.

Again, with all due respect quality and Google, as of late, go much better then quality and Apple. As to iOS, it has to be the most horribly simple OS that I never want to use. Why? I still can't select default apps? Seriously?

But that isn't the biggest problem with iOS.

Yeah it's like once you've experience Android 4.4 you feel like you've broken out of iOS-jail.
