It’s running Android tho. Not as fluid and seamless as iOS 16 tho 😣 or is it lol?

I don’t know. Bought my first iPhone in 2008 and never made a change to anything else.
Yes , I mean iPhone has been my phone ever since it started but man a phone that turns into a tablet! You really need to see it live it looks so cool, yes I also dont like android and would never chance to android but its extremely tempting

Great time to add more to the Apple holdings.

Remember: for every person/institution that is selling...someone else is buying. This is when the big funds accumulate their holdings in excellent companies - while everyone else is panicking due to macro factors.

Don't be shocked someday when you come across a headline along the lines of "AAPL rebounds to new all-time high after dipping down to $120 during end-of-year tech stock rout"!

I ordered a 14 Pro Max a few weeks ago and it had about a month lead time, i expected to get it mid january - but it shipped from China directly and I got it before Christmas.. things don’t seem too dire

Really? I look at Android and see a really basic OS that is a terrible user experience compared to iOS riddled with privacy and security issues. Just because the screen bends doesn’t mean it’s magically a better phone in every other regard.
Yeah, Android is a very basic OS from which iOS has been borrowing ideas and features for years. Bending of the screen is not the goal. Abilith to reduce device length by 2x is, and it's important to some. Apple fans have been mocking a lot of Android smartphone features in the past only to embrace them once they become available in iPhone. Here are some examples:
  • large screen phones
  • wireless charging
  • NFC (iBeacons are way better... sure they are)
  • high resolution cameras
  • OLED screens

That's probably what some TSLA shareholders thought a year ago. They must be regretting it now that the stock dropped by 70%.

Your first sentence is both true and irrelevant. It hasn't done a lot to bolster Apple and make the brand cool again.

As far as "quite frankly their products actually work", no, no they don't. I work with three computers on a regular basis - my Pi, my Windows 10 Dell, and a 2019 MacBook Pro. The Pi and Dell regularly impress me with how well they work. The MacBook Pro and iPhone regularly surprise me with how poorly they work.

They used to work. That stopped after Jobs died. Quality just went out the window as Cook insisted on shipping garbage on an annual schedule.
I have to stop listening when I hear that a Windows 10 Dell and a RPi are mentioned as reliable. Clearly you have very low standards.

It's not about being a cool brand, it's about selling and they're doing pretty damn well at that.

Coattails ran out, and I think the Apple product line has become stale. 🫤

People fail to realize how dire things are with iPhone sales accounting for 52% of Apple’s revenue.

Then Tim goes and hinges half of their revenue on mostly one company and mostly in China….

Hello!

And now their phones have nothing interesting to come - no buzz on the street. USB C was on a 150 buck phone I have and I hate the loose connection. Rounded back with aluminum for most models? Tim made a house of cards and is desperately looking for a quick fix.

As of now - if the iPhone loses its “cool” image, the company will spiral down just like Blackberry. Nothing lasts forever and Tim should now retire and let some new blood and vision take over…

i been saying this but apple die hard apologists are claiming supply constrain is the real reason why apple not selling as much
No it's supply chain. We have a bunch (150+) of back ordered phones at work. Mid Jan delivery.

The price isn't that high for business. Consumers it might be because we're in the middle of a financial collapse and inflation **** show.

no it sounds like a uk issue, here state side anyone who got their new iphone got it within same day if not in a week of ordering. the only occasions i seen where delay was substantial is when you order a off color like purple with 1tb config. but even then the delay isn't as bad as last year with the iphone 13 pros.

as for price, enterprise and commercial orderings are in no way of accurate measurement economic well being since they are counted as tax deductible. apple can charge 2k for a iphone 14 pro and business would still order in bulk.

I would order iPhone 14 Plus models up here in Canada. We have 50% CCA here so you are sort of correct. I now have two EINs in the States so more fun with the IRS. The iPhone 14 Plus is the perfect corporate phone in my opinion, Outlook is the best email app to put on there. Left them for a few years but so far completely happy!

my company offer two choices, either you get a work issued devices like iphone and macs, or you buy your own and the company reimburse you up to 50% while you still own your device outright.

as for outlook....i don't hate it but i don't love it, i just use it cause work requires it.

You know interesting enough they were saying that back in 2011 even.

yep, pretty much nothing changed, apple still getting approximately 50% of its revenue from its iphone sale. however the circumstances nowadays is very much different from that of 2011.

Sure, but you're comparing two vastly unlike companies at two vastly different points in time. There isn't a logical analogy there.

Tesla does not even remotely compare to Apple as far as balance sheets, future growth potential, product quality, etc. It's still a relatively small auto manufacturer that was always overvalued on its premise as a 'tech' company. It wasn't even profitable until relatively recently.

Apple is feeling the effect of the broader market rout, and there is no better opportunity to keep adding to your portfolio than when great companies are affected by broader downtrends.

dont forget usb c charging when the EU regulation goes into effect 😂

I think it's fun to consider after 15 years of the iPhone is something going to occur in 2023/2024 that supersedes it?

"Augmented reality will demand software that does more but also gets out of the way more" from WWDC 2022

HOW FAR IS AR FROM REPLACING SMARTPHONE?

An ideal AR glasses requires mature algorithms, interactive solutions, and excellent display effects. It also require elements suitable for consumers to wear, such as fashionable appearance. From this factor, AR glasses are still in the exploratory stage.

“We predict that consumer-grade AR will go through three stages: the early market (2022-2025), also known as the preparation period, the essence and core capability of this stage are hardware devices, which can replace some mobile phone scenarios; the mainstream market (2025 -2028), the performance of the hardware meets the requirements of the Killer App, revolutionary products appear, and enter the mass user; the ecological explosion stage (after 2028), this stage forms a barrier that constitutes a positive ecological cycle.” Li Hongwei said.

This means that we have at least six years to get a 100% working Augmented Reality technology. At the moment, the overall shipments of AR glasses are still small. In fact, there is no consumer-grade AR product at the moment

Jitesh Ubrani, research manager for IDC’s Mobile and Consumer Device Tracking, expects AR headsets to become mainstream in consumption as early as late 2024 or early 2025.

lol, imagine still believing nowadays that stock price is actually affected by anything the company is or is not doing. It is all a show. The stock market is a casino and you're not part of the house.

So here is a story about iPhone production constraints due to COVID-19-related issues, so where are reports of people not being able to buy iPhone 14? Or delays of shipping delivery of purchases?

The iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus were not as much impacted.

Delivery for the 14 pro max is about 2 weeks here in Singapore. I haven’t been to a shopping mall recently, so I can’t comment on carrier availability.

There is ready stock of the iphone 14 models at the Apple Store though.
