This is why Apple doesn't care about the Mac business these days. There just isn't money in the PC business anymore. Tim Cook is following the money and the shareholders will be happy.
Echoes the turd.
With a global market of $85 billion and Apple grabbing just 6,8% of it, with 4/5 year obsolete models

In all fairness, none of the other Half-Trillion Dollar Companies are updating their's either.
I am unaware of those, but this half-trillion was customer buy-in into a catalogue they expected to be kept on track.

How about starting from the iPhone 1? It was a general statement discussing apple methods. Whether you liked a keynote or not is fine and dandy but wasn't the point.

why? Is the iphone 4 under jobs somehow better than the iPhone 7 under cook? And I have some of their products and we like them. But to each their own.

It's not 2007 mate . Nice deflection though. Keynotes are a reflection of the functionality that is introduced .

Of course the iPhone 4 was much better at its time than the iPhone 7 is. The iPhone 4 was the best phone at the time by large leaps and bounds. The iPhone 7 does not hold that title in 2017.

Each release under Jobs was revolutionary. iPhone 4 got a new design, a game changing display upgrade, connecitivty updates and the usual Tim Cook functionality updates. The day the iPhone started falling behind the competition as regards displays was since 2012 a year after Jobs died. We may have seen OLED on the iPhone a lot earlier if Jobs was alive because he truly believed in \the best for his products

Not really. I'd rather have the kind of functionality updates that Apple is famous for than a new screen technology that isn't mature.

What “new screen technology” are you referring to that “isn’t mature?”

OLED? I have a new LG 65” OLED TV, and I can tell you that OLED is amazing.
The solid state / haptic home button? This is not much different than the current iPhone 7 from an implementation standpoint.
Touch ID under glass? Have you seen the new rMBP?

Seems like they’re all technologies that have been tried before in various forms and are now ready for prime time.

edit: and “functionality”? I fully expect the lower portion of the screen to become an iPhone version of the TouchBar with context-sensitive input areas. That builds on the new input mechanism available on the latest rMBP. Maybe not revolutionary, but certainly evolutionary and several steps in the right direction.

The iPhone 7 will look like a behemoth from the 90s compared to this bezelless curved edge iPhone
no it won't.
Well it might if you are one of those who must show off their latest bit of bling/shiny shiny.
For the rest of us in the real world, the phone is a tool that we use. It really does not matter if it has edge-to-edge display or not. As long as it does its job then it is fine.
I have a set of socket wrenches that I bought in 1969. They might be scratched but there is no reason to buy a new set. They work perfectly. The same goes with my phone.
YMMV but you do fit the vision of an Apple Fanboi that the Apple haters love to portray.

Do you call customers returning lg oled tv due to burn in a great thing? I posted the link multiple times, but to me this does not bode well.

iPhone 1 was revolutionary.
That's where it stopped, imo. The rest were evolutionary.

That's all well and good but that's not what this is about. (And who determines what's best, market share, units sold, profits? Since I bought one I believe it is best)

Yeah, if the iPhone gets anymore expensive it starts to breach the journalist can't afford it barrier. And that is a major issue. Because with Android phones getting cheaper and better, the tech journalists (who know how to use an Android phone just fine) are going to struggle to own an iPhone that costs $1,100 as their daily driver. That will be tough to justify when there are nice Android phones that cost $400.
When someone like detroitborg is able review all iPhone 7 Plus models in different colors, in addition to the standard iPhone 7 model, trust me, this won't be a problem for tech journos.

Stock is not what matters. People and nations matter.

This is nice, humanist wisdom. But it's also meaningless when you're talking about a publicly traded corporation - in Apple's world, profit and stock price is exactly what matters. However, they also are one of the most charitable corporations, and devote time and energy to supporting human rights issues.

I cannot justify paying more than $900 for an iPhone. Sorry Apple, I hope, you keep the same price points of the iPhone 7, so you raise, I'll guess I'll wait until the promotions by carriers hit the market.

I can see Cook having another Apple Watch moment when he announces the price... or when Schiller does..

and so the iPhone 8 starts with 32GB RAM available in all these countries, the 32GB is $1199 and the 128GB is $1299....

Then comes that awkward silence moment when the audience goes quiet just like the $12000 Apple Watch announcement.

Of course stocks will rise anyway, that's Cooks aim and what he does.
32GB of RAM on an iPhone!?
Count me in!!!

Back on topic, from the recent rounds of Apple products, the only thing I can say about the optimism for the stock is: The higher you aim for, the harder the fall is...

Tim Cook as an individual is charitable, he gave 100m away, but Apple as a company? What have they done?

I prefer the chamfered, sharp lines and feel of the 4/5 series, by a factor of 100. I hope they bring back some of the crispness and get away from this blob thing they have been on.

The 3D AI sensors ain't happening anytime soon. Of late, Apple innovation crawls at a snails pace. Playing it safe in the name of profits.

I'd be surprised if we see anything more than larger screen, faster, OLED, and wireless charging...oh yeah, and thinner.

Apple obviously thinks that link is false all iPhones are going OLED come 2019. If it werent for supply issues they would have gone all OLED this year itself

iPhone 4s is evolutionary compared to the original iPhone? Have you even looked at the phones?

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Sure, evolutionary. The same fluid definition as innovation and driving too fast etc.
