People really wanted that Calculator app for iPad.
I bought 200 shares back in 1999…Great buying opportunity yesterday! Love it!
Always, always, always.
Perhaps it will take Apple fans using some "AI" to finally learn some basic pattern recognition. It doesn't matter what is announced, the immediate impact on Apple stock is always a dip after an event.
As the saying goes, the market can stay irrational longer than social media, or something like that. But people said on social media that it was the worst WWDC ever, how is it possible?
Imagine if Tim Cook announced he was going to rename the company from Apple Inc. to Apple Intelligence.I’m ngl. I think Apple has the branding down. “Apple Intelligence” takes away the corporate feel of ‘AI’ and the tagline “AI for the rest of us” is smart.
We’ve been funding his retirement for years!Love hate relationship with Tim Cook intensifies... retirement funds looks brighter though!

Stock wouldon that alone.
I think that is the reason why the market is so excited. They will predict the next mega upgrade cycle this fall. I'm not sure if it's going to materialize though. As Apple geeks this whole AI thing sounds very exciting. But how highly will regular consumers value it? I don't know honestly. The most practical thing I think is better search in Photos and the image editing features.I expected a bigger dip actually considering the hype of AI and importance this was for Apple. But they kind of crushed it. And then there’s the whole you must buy a new iPhone unless you have a 15 pro.

But how are they going to monetize it? Will customers pay a subscription to get AI features? I would not, as it currently stands. Maybe in the future. The AI announcement is why. AI is the buzz word right now.
Yes, exactly, Apple Intelligence is not opt-in. The only things being opt-in are external requests to ChatGPT but it will be on a case-by-case basis not a general one.I think he's referring to the outsourced LLM models like ChatGPT, and most likely Claude and Gemini by the time iOS18 launches with these features.
I don't think the on device stuff will be opt-in, what would be the point. You didn't opt in to Siri originally ten years ago and that wasn't even run on the device.
I don’t think it’s going to be a paid service. It’s going to be an ecosystem draw for consumers. The stronger the ecosystem, the more iPhones, Macs, ipads, Apple TV’s, HomePods, etc people will buy and use. The feature will drive hardware sales and that’s where the money comes in.But how are they going to monetize it? Will customers pay a subscription to get AI features? I would not, as it currently stands. Maybe in the future.
I think people misunderstand that slide in the presentation, which shows which devices will do on-device processing, the rest will require more cloud processing. But we don't know for sure until Apple clarifies a few things.I expected a bigger dip actually considering the hype of AI and importance this was for Apple. But they kind of crushed it. And then there’s the whole you must buy a new iPhone unless you have a 15 pro.

iPhone is definitely the money machine for Apple and secondarily other hardware sales too. And that drives Apple Silicon advancement, keeping them moving forward. And the ecosystem keeps people on all those devices and buying more. So yes, all of the above.Sell more iPhones. That’s the magic money machine investors want to see.
That’s where Apple’s business model of actually selling hardware differentiates what they can do. They’re not going to monetize it, this is now just part of the Apple ecosystem. But how are they going to monetize it? Will customers pay a subscription to get AI features? I would not, as it currently stands. Maybe in the future.
Sure, but some of the AI features will need investment in data center capabilities. Not everything can be done on device.Sell more iPhones. That’s the magic money machine investors want to see.
How old are you? https://computerhistory.org/blog/a-computer-for-the-rest-of-us/I struggle to put it in words but the slogan ‘AI for the rest of us’ feels a tad…degrading? I understand the message they’re trying to convey, offering simple AI solutions for the everyday consumer, but the slogan just feels off. Just me?
