I could care less what the device looks like and how thin it is. I want software innovation! There's zero reason to keep making things thinner and add more ram when the device hasn't been challenged by any software. Update the IOS interface completely! Allow for people to customize things to make the phone more "Personal"! Seems like it's all hardware these days and nothing about the software that should be on the cutting edge.
Totally agree and I would add that the planned obsolescence built into Apple products means they had better have something very attractive/new every few generations otherwise the upgrade cost just feels like being ripped off.Maybe iPhone users are finally realizing that these recent iPhone model "bump ups" aren't worth spending $700-$1000 on.
A few extra megapixels, a millimeter thinner, some whiz-bang features that no one really winds up using past the first month...just not worth my hard-earned $1000. I've already got a semi-functioning, sometimes-buggy iPhone 6 and I don't really expect a similar looking iPhone 7 to behave much different. So I (like many others) plan to keep my $1000 in my bank unless Apple can give me something worth spending it on.
OR, how about lowering the prices? Sometimes you have to feel the pain (lower profits) before the gain (higher sales).
Me and you both know that wouldn't happen. But you can get last year's model for $100 lessIf the iPhone 7 rumors are true, I hope it at least comes with a price drop.
Same here. It will hold me off upgrading until the next 4" model comes along. The lack of innovation and the horrendous design of the 6/7 models makes the wait easy.I bought a SE with the latest guts and no protruding camera and the battery lasts forever at about half the price of the last full sized phone. I'm perfectly content for a few years.
I'm still rocking the 5, too!!My early model 5 is still working, there hasn't been anything since that has tempted me to upgrade.
It will definitely have 4K recording.

Seriously. I still can't just walk into the Apple Store and get my SE and one for my daughter. We were told the nearest Apple Store that had them was one state over--miles and a long drive away. The SE has been out for awhile now. This is ridiculous. My husband ran into the same issue when he wanted a laptop that was released last year. And we all know it took a very long time for the watches to be stocked in the stores. Apple really needs to make sure the product is actually in the stores available to be bought while the new release hype is still high.Just make sure there is enough to meet the demand.
Every year the iPhones go on backorder within minutes when pre-orders open, and I suspect it will be the same for the iPhone7/7Plus
Despite the launch of the lower-priced iPhone SE, that decline is expected to continue into the second half of this year. In reporting its first negative-growth quarter since 2003, Apple forecasted another revenue drop next quarter.
yeah - 4K on the phone, yet no 4K in the company's living room media hub.
TBH there's been a lack of real innovation since the iPhone 4. And that was the last iPhone launch that really made me go Wow!!!
You'll get 4K when Apple wants you to have 4K, duh. Now *that* is the Apple way! This. No excuses why the ATV didn't have 4K from the start. A8 is more than capable of 4K.

Useless.First to market with pressure-sensitive capacitive touch screen
And it's the ugliest phone in the market. Innovation doesn't include what the phone is made out of... That doesn't count, sorry.First to market with phone made of 7000-series military-grade aluminium
Debatable.Still best-in-class fingerprint reader that cannot be matched for accuracy, response time, and security of any other reader
That's because iOS is a feather-weight.Still best-in-class SoC that with only dual cores puts 8-core Droids to shame in both single and multi-core performance
Again, debatable. iOS seems to be more buggy than ever. Most stable OS on mobile
You feel sorry for someone who probably bought a superior phone. When was the last time you even used an Android phone? 2008?I feel sorry for you...
Apple recently reported its first year-over-year decline in iPhone sales, with CEO Tim Cook claiming one of the reasons is that the upgrade cycle for the larger iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s series has stretched out longer than it anticipated.![]()
Despite the launch of the lower-priced iPhone SE, that decline is expected to continue into the second half of this year. In reporting its first negative-growth quarter since 2003, Apple forecasted another revenue drop next quarter.
The sales decline is placing downward pressure on Apple's overseas suppliers, who have rode the iPhone's coattails to success over the past half-dozen years. Not only does LCD supplier Japan Display reportedly expect to post a nearly $300 million loss for the fiscal year ended March, but Nikkei reports that Apple's slowdown is also sending Taiwanese suppliers into a downward spiral. The report claims Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), one of Apple's primary chip suppliers, may ship up to 30% fewer chips in the second half of 2016 compared to the year-ago period. The decline is attributed to the iPhone 7's expected lack of innovative features, saturation of the smartphone market, increased competition, and a global economic slowdown.Apple suppliers Largan Precision, LG Display, Catcher Technology, Foxconn, and Pegatron have and will likely continue to face similar declines in the near term.Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the latter of which may be branded with a "Pro" name instead, in September. Newly leaked drawings suggest both smartphones may have no 3.5mm headphone jack and a single speaker, while a dual-lens camera system and Smart Connector will seemingly be exclusive to the larger 5.5-inch model with 3GB of RAM.
