Again, what’s your rational and pragmatic solution?

I know that “states rights” is just a catch phrase, kind of like “the wall, virtue signaling, chain migration” and other fun phrases, but some states have exercised their rights and elected to treat DACA designees as the actual residents they are, along with the benefits therein. That rarely means free tuition.

Should your children wish to attend college in California and pay in-state tuition you could, like, move.
I think he was alluding to that the freebies in California are mostly based on income levels. Since DACA recipients are children of illegals who technically can’t have a legal income, they basically always look poor on paper and qualify for much more social services and college grants than the daughter of joe blow six pack who has to truthfully state his income therefore disqualying their kid from the services.

He married a white, fashion model immigrant. Twice. Melanie’s expiry date is coming up soon, so I’m sure he’s looking for the next Mrs Trump.

A man who like beautiful women. Shocking!

LOL...then why does Trump want to cut legal immigration by 50%?

No one has a right to come to this country. Period. Maybe he wants to get the illegals out so we get our finances back on track before we take in anyone else.

Of course! Surely you can't band together and say "hey, this piece of land is ours".

Of course I am, what civilized person isn't.

I used to be a communist, but I no longer identify with that because most communists, even when they support the idea of seizing power with violence, reject the idea of systematic random violence after they're in charge, which I think is a fantastically good idea so that people, living in constant fear, don't have time to think about what toys they lack.

Ahh you almost had me. gg wp. :p

It's hard to tell when people are being serious or trolling when so many people genuinely talk like that these days.

Reminds me of this game, Communist Manifesto or Democratic Platform?

Immigrants eligible for DACA pay over $2 billion a year in taxes but, hey, I guess you would rather just spread more unsubstantiated lies about them to make a cheap point instead, right?

This, "they pay taxes," statement doesn't hold water as an argument for them to game the system established in law. Is there a serious argument being made that if Apple no longer employs these DACA workers that Apple would leave the jobs unfilled and therefore there would be a loss in tax revenue? If Apple doesn't hire a replacement then the employee was unneeded by the company and if the position is filled the person who takes the job then pays the taxes. It is not like the DACA employee is putting extra taxes into the system.
Don't get me wrong. I am open to a conversation about this topic but let's not use this highly flawed rationale for a positive mark in favor of not getting rid of a program that a president put in place so as not to actually deal with the issue. Instead of working with congress the president used an executive order to, as too many politicians do, kick the can down the road while saying that he did what he could to address the issue. Politicians created this mess by not dealing with the issue and they are the ones who created this strife. Were it handled properly, we wouldn't have people pitted against each other to this degree.

Well, my comment was in direct response to someone calling DACA recipients "free riders" and the fact that they pay taxes is certainly directly relevant to that point. But, more broadly, you're assuming that tax revenue is independent of the total number of workers, and that's simply not true. More workers means more jobs, more GDP, more business revenue and hence more tax revenue. The DACA recipients are definitely putting more taxes into the system. These hypothetical non-DACA recipients who would replace them at Apple are otherwise working somewhere else, making money and paying taxes. You can't just remove the DACA recipients from the workforce and keep tax revenue neutral.

Are they? If they weren't hired in the first place, another citizen would be employed in their stead and pay the same if not higher taxes. Companies don't create DACA only/specific jobs, do they?

And Haiti is a ****hole. The same people who are screaming and wringing their hands are the same people who say Ohio and Alamaba are ****holes due to what they consider to be populations of backward white trash. The hypocrisy is astonishing.

What.
I was being entirely serious.

Obvious bait was obvious.

Take it from some of the pros around here... you can't lay it on too thick all at once. You have to build up to it or the cover is blown and people can see the bait.

Sure, DACA recipients pay some taxes. But I would argue with you that it is not as you say, more workers means more jobs but rather more jobs means more workers. More jobs leads to higher employment and a greater tax revenue for the government. For arguments sake, if the DACA recipients and other non-citizens were removed from the economy then the employment percentage numbers increase and unemployment decreases. Your comment about the non-DACA person taking the job would be leaving a different job and so there is no net increase is ignoring the thousands upon thousands of college graduates that are released on the economy every spring. These are the people who take those jobs that became available when the non-DACA worker replaced the DACA worker. Therefore the DACA worker is not putting more taxes into the system than otherwise would be put into the system. You seem knowledgeable regarding DACA participants. How do these DACA recipients working at Apple and the other fortune 500 companies pay into the federal government through withholding via their Social Security number. Do these non-citizen workers have social security numbers that are used to pay into the system? I am not sure how that works. I thought only citizens had social security numbers.

This is like the simplest problem ever.

If your parents break the law, but you are raised in America, you are not in violation of any law.

Being in America is not illegal. Coming here illegally is, but dreamers didn't do that. They had no input in this decision and are not responsible for their actions as children.

That's like saying, your parents stole a car, they'll go to jail, but since you didn't steal the car you get to keep it.

Oh this is INCREDIBLE. He just gave away $1.5 TRILLION to the wealthy and corporations, while raising everyone else's taxes. He's literally selling off the country to corporate interests while profiteering off the Presidency. Man you are deep, deep in the Kool Aid.
