Apple's 'TV' App Starts Showing Up for Users in the UK, France, and Germany

the only reason i have stayed with Sky is because i watch a lot of sports so i need sky sports.

That and the missus would kill me if i ever cancelled it!

Anyone know how to add Sky onto the TV app? Don’t see many netflix films appearing. Only amazon Prime. Also realised they don’t have the provider options like they do in USA

I have been waiting for the videos app to change all day, so I went onto the App Store and went to Apples developer page to show all their apps and the TV app appeared under ‘latest release’ I was able to download it.

Still not appearing here... I wonder how these things roll out? By device; iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7... Or is it just random?

My library contains half a dozen rubbish TV programs and films I downloaded about 6 years ago. Even though they on not on my device anymore they continue to display in the library.

Is there ANYWAY to remove all reference to them or does Apple forbid me to do this on my own device!

Yes. Just google "hide itunes purchases".

Go to iTunes on a computer. Sign into your account you’re not already, then go to Purchases, or Family Purchases if you use Family Sharing, in the Account tab. From here, click the content you want to hide, and then click the ‘x’ in the top right to hide it. You should get a warning the first time that this will hide the content from all devices. Just had to do the same for mine!

Be interesting to have a look - horses for courses depending on what channels you tend to watch but would be good to see C4 and Netflix on there. I think I saw something recently about C4 coming soon, not sure what Netflix's problem is.

Also, the iPlayer app on the ATV is fantastic (its improved on Virgin, but still not as slick as the ATV version), so it'll be interesting to see how it compares.

I bet many countries have it worse but it still sucks..

I was on the latest developer beta still, but just restored my phone to get the standard consumer version of iOS. Lo and behold, the TV app showed up instantly.

Is anyone having any issues trying to get content to actually play? Nothing happens when I press play - tried multiple TV shows/movies from multiple sources but nothing.

With the TV app, Amazon Prime, plus on demand apps from ITV and Channel 5, my Apple TV experience has had a significant upgrade, without the need to buy a 5th gen box!

The app the first time appeared on my iPad with 11.01 having replaced the Videos App. But when starting it nothing but a blank screen showed up...it disappeared again with 11.02 if I recap correctly. Let’s see if this now works out. I‘m assigned to the German App Store btw.

When I 3D touch on my iphone on the TV app there is no option to share the link. When I check in my purchases on the App Store it doesn’t exist even though it’s installed on my phone.

Replaced the Video app on my iPhone here in the UK. Not seeing anything other than BBC, ITV & my5 currently.
Is integration with Netflix, Prime Video etc only available through the tv app or should it be on iPhone too?

Unfortunately not. I subscribe to HBO Go and while the TV app picks up Netflix, Amazon, iPlayer, ITV and my5 it ignores HBO Go unfortunately. Very disappointing.
