Well, since apple is running the commercial again " Can your phone and YOUR NETWORK DO THIS" ( which picked up speed prime time Tuesday night ) has me concerned. I was hoping the iPhone would come to verizon soon.

In time it will, once Verizon brings on more devices that are GSM/LTE, however there network has to be fully integrated as GSM/LTE I would think.

They more or less do have it now, considering there world Blackberry that takes a sim. But I think you have to wait for a SIM to come from a Corporate store or something like that.

But when VZW does switch over that guy in the AT&T add's is going to be singing a different tune

Its all good, each company has its ups and downs. Its all about the money! How can we keep the greedy exec's happy, and screw our customers some more with our stupid cheesy "CONTROL FREAK" Lock down and make them pay more interface.

Verizon's not going GSM/LTE. They're going CDMA/LTE.

They've said they also intend to keep using CDMA for voice into the next decade, which makes sense. Why drop a working network? No doubt ATT will do the same with GSM.

Although there'll be some consumer LTE phones, they see LTE mostly being used as a wireless broadband for other devices... especially ones with more battery capacity, such as laptops, automobiles, games, cameras, etc. Imagine if a car was its own wifi hotspot and/or had streaming multimedia.

I hope this means competition for iphone service and lower prices. I hate that At&t has a monopoly and can charge as much as they want. A $40 data fee and $30 unlimted text is comedy at best. Text should be part of the data fee

As far as the iphone and who the next carry will be. I do not see verizon because the network can not handle the ability to surf or do anything else while on a phone call. Unless they have be secretly refreshing the services but I doubt it. Next T-moblie which I run now because at&t is not that good in my area.T-mobile is not that bad the down fall is no 3g on tmobile but I can live with edge speeds plus the price are a lot better for full package. as nuch as at&t and apple have history i can see them pushes hard for the rights to both the iphone and the tablet. who wouldn't but here is the kicker at&t rolled out some sort of 7.2 thing and nobody has put much thought into. but if they were about to lost the iphone why bother, some said the iphone was bogging down their network right. also apple is going to go with who allows them to get a large % of the iphone or ipad/itablet sales. with that being said at&t will most likely get ipad/itablet and iphone esp. if they are talking about tethering between the two of them. me personal i would open both devices to all networks and set a standard % from all carriers who could handle FULL capabilities of the devices

Bold #1 - they are not REPLACING a carrier. Think, "In addition to AT&T, you will be able to ALSO enjoy your iPHone on the Verizon network."

Bold #2 - i think we will see it on "all of them" at some point, but there are limitations of the Verizon network that it's users should be able to decide if it was "good enough" for them. I have no need to talk and surf - it's never come up in my 3+ years with a smartphone on verizon.

Saw a press release this morning, that Movistar has lost there EXCULSIVE iPhone deal in Spain......:D

Well I do enjoy all 3 of my iphones on tmobiles network right now. I agree that Apple should offer choices and I hope they do. But think about this with at&t rollout of the 7.2 mbps one would think they did this for a reason. So my thought is that either the iphone or the ipad/itablet will go at&t exclusive. which one ????? we will find out soon....

Your also forgetting that Verizon releases your information to third partys. About two days ago my cousin received this letter from Verizon stating that they will be release his information to third partys. The only way to stop them is by giving Verizon a call and letting them know you want your information to be kept private. What an inconvenience right? I should only call them to give them the ok to release my information, not the other way around.

LOL. You know, lying does not make your comments more interesting, VZW does NOT do that; it goes against so many privacy policies. I work for Verizon and that is a complete lie.

For the love of all that is holy. Please, Please, Please get rid of this stupid exclusivity. Put it on all 4 (at&t, t-mobile, verizon, sprint). As a stockholder that is probably the best thing this company can do. (of course who knows what will be unleashed today).

As an ex iPhone user who couldn't tolerate at&t, I need the ability to get the iPhone.

You were saying?

Yesterday, you were dealing with hype. My point yesterday was valid yesterday.

Now it's hype and promise. Unless all print media shuts down today and shifts to the Ipad, it's not a given yet.

Personally, I think that the Ipad will be a marginal device if Itunes is required to use it. I know people
who would have bought an Iphone - until they realized that they would have to install the bloated pig of an
app named Itunes. Itunes is a deal-breaker for some.

Seriously? I don't know any of those people. I know people that don't want to switch carriers, but no one that says I want an iPhone, but iTunes is a deal breaker.

Backpedal away Shaw....

This is classic. :p

Apparently, his comparatively miniscule circle is somewhat more miniscule than he would like to believe.
