I never said that. This one I'm confident in.

If you could put a dollar value on your confidence level, what would it be? It wouldn't be surprising to see aluminum MacBooks anodized in the same colours as their aluminum iPhones. At all. Will you still be confident if Apple releases a gold iPad in October?

Everyone hating on gold. If it looked as good as it did with the phones, i'd definitely get it. Although a solid black macbook air is what i'd prefer.

I only tap. I never click my trackpad. I am fine with them leaving the click for other users though

First thing I do when I go into the Apple store and "play" is change that setting in System Preferences to Tap to Click. I do the same thing if I work on a friend's Mac and they don't have it turned on.

3-finger drag over text allows highlighting.

You also use three finger to drag objects (i.e. dialog boxes and other windows) around on the screen.

I like the idea, while I love the look of my MBP and MBA, I think that the aluminum silver look is in danger of getting to look stale. Space Grey would look really cool for a Macbook. And as much as some like to see themselves as fans of this huge underdog company, I think it's ok if they cater to the younger crowd and continue with the gold that they already successfully applied to the iPhones.

Tapping does cut it. I started getting into the habit of tapping a few years ago and now it is second nature and much more efficient.

Tapping in itself is not a problem, the constant accidental thumb-taps are.

But given the ability of the :apple:Watch to differentiate between a tap and a press without having buttons, it might be possible that the buttonless trackpad gets similar capabilities.

That's cool. I didn't know that.

My '09 MBP trackpad is having issues so I have been trying to reduce my reliance on clicking. My big issue is dragging something from once space to another. The only way I know is to click + drag, and then four finger swipe.

With Jobs at the helm, I'd have agreed with you. These days though, I wouldn't put it past them.

Personally, I really like the current aluminium and black bezel. Just wish they'd make a retina MBA with aluminium and black bezel.

Because Jobs was above making silly colored computers right?

Aside from the color rumor, this all makes a lot of sense and is exciting. The next generation of MacBook Air is going to be great. Look at how successful the current crop are.

Mid-2015 will be perfect to replace my Mid-2011 Air.

I would definitely buy a space gray macbook air. I just hope in Apple's never ending quest for thinness they don't go backwards on performance or battery life. I don't need MBP level performance. I just don't want to go backwards.

Apple sure does LOVE showing white woman in interracial relationships with black men in all their ads.

Don't think I've ever once seen a black couple in any Apple adds. It's always a black guy with a white girl. Give me a ****ing break.

you rarely see ads with a white guy with a black girl. if you do she is very light skinned.

Lately I just want to kick Intel between the legs.

Seriously the delays in getting 14 nam hardware out the door is seriously crimping Apples line up.

Gold laptops.
Yeah, no. We all know that won't happen any time soon. Unless you want to either a: look like a ginormous douche or b: have it chained to your arm or c: both.

I think you're right, but that's looking at it from only one perspective. Gold is a very popular colour in certain demographics. Not just within western countries, but especially Asian countries with massive population bases. Add that to the want to be special and show off and I think it would be an insane success.

Personally, a 5S space grey coloured macbook pro would be awesome.

Um...the iDevices are one thing, but a Gold laptop? Not for me anyway.

Space Gray I would be fine with, since it evokes the Black MacBooks and it's understated.

What I really want is much better quality control and the display issues to be sorted already.

Yep, with an ARM processor. Also, Tap Pad instead Track Pad (think iPhone, iPad touch screen). No funky colors though, that's just dumb. Laugh all you like, just you wait and see...
Color choices aren't a problem because if you don't like it you don't buy. It is sort of like going to a bar that only has dark haired woman and you are looking for a blond, generally you move to a different place.

Yep, you'll be pretty stylin' sitting at Starbucks sipping your Gold Coast coffee with your gold laptop, talking on your gold iPhone, all the while flashing that gold watch on your wrist.

I will believe this one when I see it. Glad I didn't wait for this "rumor" to come true this year.

no, enough with this space grey crap. make it black

I've always wanted to ask what color is space gray but was afraid to be shamed by some astronomy geek with a plausible answer and a smug attitude. So I'll just be the guy in the crowd who nods his head yes when someone mentions how cool space gray looks. Related: what the heck does Retina HD mean? Is it just HD with an Apple registered trademark? ;):D
