Wrong. It is relevant.

The discussion is speculation that the new iPhone is just getting taller.

I responded to that.

I said I don't like it.

I don't live in an "Apple Bubble"

I posted a picture of the phone that interests me because it is related to the discussion OF FREAKIN' PHONES ! ! !

This is not a hard thing to understand buddy.

This is MacRumors and we come for Apple related rumors right? If you don't like the iPhone what's the point of responding to iPhone posts? You should better open a thread with respect to that Nokia in other sections.

I am not going to buy the iPhone 5 either and that's why I don't respond much to iPhone rumors. Take this love-or-hate situation easy, man.

Did you even read any of my previous posts in this thread ?

Or are you someone who is just jumping in on a conversation with no reference to what has been said and what the points are ?

Or are you someone who HAS been following yet pretends to not understand because My Name is Mr. Gates and you thinks this is an US vs. THEM thing ?

Once again, added nothing of value = thread crapping

Disagree all you like. Say you have the right to post your opinion all you like. All I did was define and agree with the opinion of another poster.

And you've been around long enough to know that I also do not live in said bubble either. I'm one of the first people to openly carry an iPhone around in a Microsoft office.

I just noticed iTunes icon when I saw the photo of the place.

I believe it is for the new iphone.

when apple announced iPhone 4, it was an eye, so I believe these stretched icons are for the new iPhone with longer screen.

Nothing of Value huh ? Seems like I'm voted up more than anyone for the past few pages in this thread.

Seems like what I say might resonate with a few people.

Real question...what do the competitors have that iPhone does not? I am currently an old-fashioned dumbphone user.

Thanks.

I personally prefer the iPhone over the competition but the usual stuff I hear is "Larger screen", "Higher specs", "Real multitasking", "Widgets", "Choice of default apps" and "Open ecosystem".

I personally think phones like the Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note are too big (I think having a phone not fully usable single-handed is putting form over function), that having a pretty screen is better than a larger scren (IPS LCD looks better than PenTile OLED), specs are no indication of the real-world performance (iOS on a 4S is still the smoothest mobile OS around, even after Jelly Bean and Project Butter), I think that iOS's multitasking works fine, I would however like to have more widgets on the Notification Center and to have choice of default apps (even though I would keep current default apps) and I prefer iOS's closed ecosystem since it offers better QC and design standards as well as no virus. Oh and there's the fact that there's less fragmentation with iPhones so we have more apps with better quality and less compatibility issues as well as a much greater choice of cases and accessories.

Lol, the guy pointing out your thread crapping has one more up vote. As if upvotes have any real meaning.

Good lord someone who doesn't like a 'longer' iPhone, what a refreshing thing to hear /s
Aight Mr. Gates, you have several options (besides complaining here)
1. Get a lumia with camera technology so advanced that it requires nokia to produce fake advertisements
2. Get an android that needs 2000+ mAh battery just to match the iPhone's battery life while featuring a 'project butter' that shoots CPU to 100% just to achieve a smoother system animation.
3. shut up and get out

4g lte, widgets, super amoled, screens over 4", phablets, beats audio.....there's so many out there!

The sensible thing? Sensible is redesigning the phone so that app compatibility is made EASY. That is, since apps are one of the largest attractions to iOS...

That.

And it's still an ugly design. No matter what anybody says, Apple is known for combining great hardware and software design. A misstep on one is not a good thing however people want to argue this.

It's an ugly form factor. A strange compromise. And it's a good thing they won that lawsuit and might get the S3 off the shelves.

Yea, you are not fond of a taller iPhone, I read most of the pages of the thread. You post a Nokia in this thread and you said they better new iPhone and to keep you away from the "Apple bubble" right?

Also this is a thread about the banner, your Nokia reply is for what? Don't you think that is irrelevant?

US vs. THEM thing?? If so why don't you just open a thread in other section and wave your beloved Nokia in front of everyone here? I said that in your quoted reply and I also wonder did you actually read and understand anyone reply to u?? :p

I'll admit, I prefer Android phones over iPhones. However, I love Mac products. I swear by them up and down over Windows. I wouldn't trade my iPad for anything in the world. But this whole longer iPhone thing is just... so stupid. I mean yuck! Who in the hell wants a taller phone? Just make the screen proportionately bigger and call it a day. Who cares if the screen ratio isn't the same? People have different size tvs, phones, tablets, etc.. it's really not a big deal. The iPhone is just never allowed to get wider? How stupid.

Doesn't really matter what they do, it will sell like hotcakes.

beats?

hahahahahahah "beats audio"? Why the crap would anyone want that on their phone? The one reason it'd be on there, is because it would come with some dumbed-down version of their headphones, which, by the way, also are way over-hyped!

4g lte, widgets, super amoled, screens over 4", phablets, beats audio.....there's so many out there!

  • 4G LTE = sucks batteries dry until recently. Coming in new iPhone (most likely)
  • Widgets - would be nice
  • Super AMOLED - over saturated crap. IPS is still superior
  • Screens over 4" - clearly a large percentage of the population doesn't need/care
  • Phablets - the negative connotation given that name speaks for itself
  • Beats Audio - you've got to be joking right? Dre puts his brand on it so it must be better? People who buy into that crap are a marketers dream!

Having owned every iteration of the iPhone since release, I have to agree with the census here that if they only stretch the screen without making it wider the iPhone 5 will not be my next phone. It will be hard making the move out of the Apple ecosystem but I truly need a bigger screen.

So Apple should pull the Beats from their store?

So excited for the LiquidMetal iphone5. Did you notice that Microsoft's company "Liquid Metal" changed its name last week to Abridge? Apple owns all CE rights to LiquidMetals patented process of molding metal.

And putting Apple on a product makes it better?

Plenty of people like a bigger screen. And isn't the Galaxy S3 the number one phone on major carriers aside from AT&T?

Phablets like the Galaxy Note have sold over 10 million units. Wouldn't say that was a failure.

I lover supermoled. Infinite blacks. That's the same tech that Sony and other giants are usin for the next generations of TVs

That would be awesome...... But you seem a little too excited!:D

Well, they like high margin accessory sales. If it weren't for that I'd say hell yeah.

Lolz. And they are made by Monster. Known for overpricing.
