I'm using SoundSource and it works fine. I did an Archive and Install and it worked right from the word go.

That's odd. Everything else works fine. SoundSource uses an 'input manager' I believe, which I thought worked differently in Leopard.

Can anyone else confirm this one way or another, or offer an explanation?

Thanks...

Best,

Ben

Not only is ProTools LE not working, its MidiDrivers are also crashing CoreMidi on startup which messes me up when trying to use other programs. The only way I got CoreMidi to not crash was to remove the DigiDesign midi drivers from library/audio/mididrivers/.

I guess this must be Digi's revenge for me switching to Logic! :p

I haven't upgraded yet, but I was wondering whether Open Office works?

Thanks!

I got a "command timed out error" then it loaded fine. (open office 2.2)
loading it the next time was fine. (without closing x11)
when I closed x11 and reloaded I got the same behaviour. x11 was updated in the leopard upgrade, there may be an issue there rather than with OOO as when x11 is already open OOO loads fine.
as ever, it takes a while to load. and I haven't updated it for a while. it may be better in more recent versions

Obviously many growl plugins don't work.

Growl Mail, Growl Safari, GrowlTunes.

Also, other plugins such as PicLens for Safari don't work.

These will all need to be updated before they will even show up.

Also, I am getting a lot of failed burns in toast 8 titanium, before upgrading I hardly ever got fails, now it is 2 out of the 4 disks I have tried!

This might not be leopards fault, but it might be.

Hmmmm...

Maybe this is why they've been holding off releasing Photoshop Elements 5 for the Mac? Maybe we'll finally get an Elements that doesn't require Rosetta. Hey, I can dream, can't I?

I just want adobe shockwave .... almost 2 years and no shockwave for intel macs

MT-Newswatcher 3.5.2 hangs for more than 30 seconds when I try to do a post to a newsgroup (discussion group like alt.tv.blah-blah). Otherwise it works fine, but I would consider that a definite reason for them to update the program.

Just finished installing Leopard -
Yahoo Widgets (Konfabulator) 4.0.5 is playing up, it runs but then crashes out... some widgets still run even though the process isn't present in activity monitor?

Darn, I happen to like the weather and calendar widgets that integrate with iCal so I know what I'm doing all day...... humph!

Reader Notifier 1.02 Claims there is no internet connection (even though there is)

Oh darn... Gizmo Project 'fails to register with server'!

UPDATE: There is a BETA fix available here

ha, karma dude. do u have 7.3.1.cs5 loaded and those other things mentioned on DUC? i am really interested in this as we just ordered new boxes and not sure what will be loaded, 10.4.10 or 10.5... cheers.

Intech Hi Cap driver does not work, so I won't be upgrading to Leopard unless Apple allows a new version to be developed.

I updated ProTools and it seems to be opening fine. I didn't have a session handy to test if everything else works though. The midi driver compatibility issue is still there as of the latest 7.3.1.

Always the most annoying part of a new OS. I remember last time Candybar was updated like 2 months after Tiger came out. I guess I'll wait with the update 2-3 more weeks.

Application Icons in Leopard

This is a two-part issue I'm having and I think it may be related to apps not being up to date. Sometimes when I install an application into the applications folder, I get the generic application icon, you know the ones with the ruler and the pencil. This has happened with AppDelete, Transmission, and almost did with Adium but when I clicked on the icon the Adium duck finally appeared. It happened with a few others that I can't recall off the top of my head. Others like RapidWeaver, Firefox, and Pixelmator worked fine.

Part 2 has to do with this and stacks. I created a stack for applications and it looks like it only takes a snapshot of my current apps folder and places the common mac app icon in the place of a new program until I remove the stack and add it again as if it doesn't update in real time.

Is anyone else having these issues with the standard app icon appearing?

I can confirm Perian works... To a certain degree. None of my DivX/Xvid videos are playing in quick look but opening them in Qt/FrontRow seems to do the trick.
