Any body know if Quark7 (or 6) works on Leopard? My guess is with the crapness of Quark it won't.

any word on Parallels?

It crashed on my MacBook the first time I tried to fire up a VM. I did a reinstall and it then worked fine. In fact, it worked better... Apps launched much quicker.

I've yet to give it a major work out - I only use it to run a handful of very neich applications that I need once or twice a month.

Can anyone with leopard installed already test these apps please:

- Adobe Cs3 Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, etc.)

- Final Cut Studio 2 (FCP, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor)

- After Effects Cs3

thanks

Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge and InDesign all fired up. Have not use them much yet - but so far no problems.

iGrabnews 1.3.1b1 crashes a few seconds after I open it. It's not a big deal since there are better newsreaders out there.

Anyone try Applejack on Leopard? It does major stuff, so I'd rather not be the guinea pig. ;)

I forgot UNO, yes I know leopard has a unified theme, but I forgot to remove UNO settings before installing, and wanted to see if there was anything residually left over.

no, leopard is fully universal so it supports intel and PPC apps. classic enables the use of OS 9 apps in OS X. intel machines cannot use classic so when apple made tiger on intel they dropped classic. Leopard now drops classic for intel and PPC macs.

Ok, where is the logic in this? Sure Classic is PPC based, so it would require exponential resources to make it run on Intel machines (though it would be nice ;) ), but why just drop it for all the later PPC's out there when it was supported in Tiger?

Well OS 9 is not supported on Macs with FW800, considering that this leaves only a few models that met Apples requirements this should be a non-issues.

Few models? Give you give me a total, I think you are mistaken. You must be one of those Intel users who write posts on MacNN forums how this only affects 1% of the users of Leopard/Macs, lol. Where do you come up with your figures?

No Classic in 10.5?

It's an issue for those of us who've been using Classic applications on PPC Macs for years now and never found a need to change because the Classic environment worked so well. I can't upgrade to Leopard until I've solved these problems. I know can do it, but it will be costly, and unwelcome.

Exactly, and it there a link anyone can post that gives Apple's reasoning for dropping Classic support in Leopard???

I just received word that the guys over at Konfabulator/Yahoo Widget Engine officially acknowledged an issue with their program running under 10.5, and they assured a fix is on the way, perhaps with even some new enhancements in the mix.

I thought it might be useful to compile a list of apps we know won't work on Leopard (in case there are any mission-critical apps people need that won't work) and details of when updates are due (if known). The list so far is on MacRumors Guides here (thanks to BigAndy). Please add further updates there as well as posting in the thread (preferably if you have confirmed directly with the developer regarding compatibility and an expected fix date, if any). Thanks!

HttpMail

it wasnt in the list so thought I'd add it here =)
see the above quote.

Hay guys, could we keep this list easy to read by everyone doing their bit to add too the Guide page once they've confirmed if something does or doesn't work?

Ta thx bai ;)

Quicksilver won't take itself from the dock. It just stays there, but other than that it works fine.

After Effects CS3 and Premiere Pro CS3 startup fine for me.. I've had no problems with any of the complete Master's Suite.

Flex Builder 2.0 also starts up fine.

Motion 3 works fine for me after upgrading to Leopard. Perhaps you have some plugins installed that dont like Leopard?

Im very happy, so far everything Ive tried has worked :)

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Motion 3 doesn't run in Leopard. Gives you an Ozone Plugin error then dies.

Anyone else having problems with Popcorn 3. I just can't get it to open. It bounces once in the dock then nothing. It did the same thing with the beta. Popcorn 2 opens fine but I have not tried to burn a disc yet with it. I've tried multiple reinstalls with no luck. I just want to make sure that it's not just me.

I had this, it was caused by the fact that my backup of the quicksilver catalog and preferences were for a newer version than the disk image I had, so make sure you have an up to date copy of quicksilver, it has been updated in the last few days.

Why are people saying Appzapper doesn't work? It works fine for me (apart from the automator work flow), but dropping something onto Appzapper works.

Same with Perian, that is working perfectly for me.
