Is this macosrumors website thing reliable.(www.macosrumors.com)
Let me put it this way ... put down a bunch of wild speculation on a dartboard, stand back 10ft, throw the darts, and ... well ... there you have macosrumors.

Seriously, I don't think MacRumors ever posts macosrumors' rumors (that's a mouthful) and for good reason. It claims to have "informed sources," but they obviously are not informed about Mac products ... what they are informed about no one has quite figured out yet. To me macosrumors feels like someone reading Think Secret, Appleinsider, etc, and then adding their own wishful thinking.

As far as I know a 12" MacBook Pro is NOT on the roadmap. There will be a 17" MBP for sure. As soon as the 12" comes out, I would buy one because I need something fast and small with a decent keyboard. I've been disappointed by the iBooks so far (ugly keys, gets dirty, looks like... a toy...). I am willing to pay whatever it takes for a small pro laptop, core duo is a must for me such as a SuperDrive.

So if the Macbook comes in metal, has a core duo and Superdrive, I will buy one.

I hope it is better than the year of HD! HD started off well, but was forgotten after 6 months into the year :( .

Maybe us collectors can look forward to an other TAM, or THAM ? ;)
Okay, you got me on this one. What is a THAM?

discontinued 12" powerbook

makes sense if superior spec 13.3" ibook/macbook is about to be released.

Still think we can expect an anouncement soon regarding Disney movie dowloads on itunes, since all other studios are doing it on different movie download sites from this week. It cant just be a coincidence that Disney has not committed to one of these sites and that Steve Jobs happens to be Disneys biggest shareholder after the Pixar sale.

so: Disney movie downloads on itunes, video ipod, and hopefully the new macbook? sound like a half-way decent birthday announcement doesn't it?:)

Well...if you call the phone # in that picture, you get a message that says, "You have reached a nonworking # at Apple." Then, it hangs up on you.

Too bad it only takes 2 gigs of ram, only has a X300 Video card and no wireless.

And runs windoze

Yep, those are all negatives. But here are some positives.

- Windows only uses like 250mb of ram when booted. 2gb has never been a problem for me. On the mac I need like 4gb.
- Video card sucks. BUT, just picked up a radeon X1600 with 512mb vram for $127. Try to do that in the Mac world.
- Windows sucks. But its fast fast fast.

Computer only cost $1279. With the Vaios shortcomings you can easily upgrade it. For example. I spent $1300 on the computer. Just bought ram for $90 to bring it to 2gb. Just bought 2 500gb sata drives for $500 from frys and the X1600 video card for $127 which brings my total purchase to $2000 roughly.

Now I have a computer with 1.32 TB of storage, 2 gb ram, 3ghz Dual Core, 512mb Radeon Video card, TV built in, liquid cooled quietness and that is still cheaper than the cheapest powermac. I tell ya, its not a bad purchase.

TAM was Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh, so I'm assuming 840quadra is speculating about a THirtieth Anniversary Macintosh
ic

I have a TAM, as 840quadra knows, so the THAM part threw me a bit.

I guess if they introduce a THAM then my TAM is really a TWAM! :D

Yep. For real. Jobs loves to watch everyone here squirm. Stupid stupid practice. Makes me throw up in my mouth thinking about WHEN the next mac is coming out and then when it does its NEVER anything special.

The G5 was special but we WAITED for it FOREVER.
The MacBook Pro was nothing special because we WAITED for it FOREVER and we knew they were going to release it as everyone else was selling the same system.

No, apple is done wowing me, especially since they are on intel now. The main problem is they tease you for a year and right when you have given up and bought a iRiver they come out with a new ipod. Sorry apple, too late.

Come out with a 50in iMac tomorrow with 10 core cpu for $1100, who cares now. My job makes me work weekends, maybe apple should have made the damn web developer work on Saturday to change the freaking page to something relating to the anniversary. I mean COME ON. If they don't care why should we?

And to the person on here that said apple does not make computers for for the people on this thread, ARE YOU SERIOUS? THATS WHAT THEY DO! And they better start doing it better. Blehhhh.

You mean to tell me they can't throw together a 4 cpu dual core for a total of 8 cores Macintosh with 4gb ram standard with a new case design and charge $5995 for it? I mean really. That would at least made everyone happy. Hell, there are so many loaded people out there dying to buy some system like that. What, they can't make that. COME ONE!

END OF RANT.

Hehe - yes, that number on the fake invitation does connect to a "nonworking number at Apple Computer" - Interesting...
