Oh god. Here we go. Another person who doesn't get it. Apple can be just as pissy. I can't count the number of times I've seen someone post. Well have you tried repairing permissions or clearing your log files or doing this or that. Defrag is done under START -> Program Files -> Accessories -> System tools. Run the app. Defrag. And there is nothing forcing you to defrang. Its a preventative maintenance measure. I do a defrag on my system once every 6 months to keep things continuous. But its not a requirement. Well at least on NT/2K/XP it isn since its using a modern file system. If you are using 9x. (95/98/98SE/ME.) HEH. You deserve all the headaches that come with that POS.
I don't think TS would look like a bunch of idiots if the announcement happened only next Tuesday. After all, a software release can always slip a few days due unforeseen issues. They would only look stupid if the announcement happened many days or even weeks after today.SiliconAddict said:

The Pope and 10.4
Unfortunately........ if the POPE pass's away today, Apple might delay what would have been an 10.4 annoucement today. Apples' 10.4 announcement would be seriously overshadowed by the press and coverage of the POPE's passing. Im sure Apple doesn't want the media competition. Looks like we will have to wait and see.

Hm.... If there's nothing by 3:30PM EST (12:30 PM PST), I'd drop chances of a release today to 5%. Currently, I still have them at 50%, as I wasn't expecting a release until around 3PM EST anyway.

Media Savvy?
I think you may be right.
Current events in PINELLAS PARK and ROME are all people are talking about. Perhaps it's just not the right time for this message. And since Apple never said the release was coming they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by waiting for the appropriate/opportune moment.

Store Down??
Who saw the store down? It is not down here in the states. Unless you see the standard "post it note" message saying "We'll be back soon", it's up. If you can't connect to it, that doesn't mean it's down, that means you are down.
It's rather late in the day now to see an announcement.
I suspect that Apple will let the rumors pass and announce next Tuesday. Tuesday is their typical announcement day.
Then again. I know I'll be madder than heck if they don't announce today and delay for 4 more days.
I'll boycott OS X until OS XI comes out!
Damn you Apple and your delayed release that is still within the promised "First half of the year."
