It makes one wonder if the news that Tiger has gone Gold Master is also a joke. So now I'm still looking at the release date to be the 24th, why break the routine?

Could this mean a website update, perchance involving Tiger?

apple.com and the Apple Store US is working fine for me. One can only hope that Apple might decide to make the announcement at 6pm PST or 6pm EST or even 8:30pm EST. What's up Apple can't you see that we are desperate for news.

4 minutes later, no problems here. Sounds to me like a routing issue between Luxembourg and California. And no Tiger.

I've noticed on and off today Apple's website has been slow. Probably due to all the people anticipating the possible release. I think Apple had Think Secret, eWeek, and Macworld UK on. Let's go back to our regularly scheduled program!

Due to the length of this thread, I'm not subscribing. If you want to ask me
something, send me a personal message.

**IF** Apple has gone Gold with Tiger, it will be minimum of two weeks ( past experience ) before they would have enough CDs to distribute to eager cutomers. After all, it does take a bit of time to print boxes, and stamp CDs.

Max.

I suspect the boxes are already printed, trimmed and lie folded flat in some warehouse somewhere... same with the documentation.

Hmmm. Interesting...... Apple Store US is working for me, but apple.com keeps timing out. Mysterious.....
I can't reach apple.com either. Is 9 telecom your internet provider, by any chance ?

Apple.com is dead here, 4:00 MST, or 3:00 PST

However, Apple Store US is up, so is the canada store. It appears as the store servers are up and running

Maybe there is a routing/DNS problem as i can't get to www.novell.com either, hmmmm

EDIT: Well apparently Novell has just come up so that dosen't matter anymore however, i still can't get to Apple.com

could it be the web server crash? I can't get in neither. since 3.00 MST now 4.00 MST.

I thought it was down for me too.... It's almost like they were blocking my IP address because if i went through anonymizer to the apple website it works fine. When I go through regular apple.com it still wont work....weird.

EDIT: My ISP is University of Michigan...so I don't think it's ISP independant.

EDIT2: It works now....odd.

True enough, i just checked it again and apparently things are working, who knows, might have been a glitch on my end or something. It is very strange to have something not work then to check it again and have it work... very strange indeed
