April Fool's Day: April 1, 2005

I have it on good authority that Apple isn't going to announce today because the SuperDrive used to burn programs is acting up. This is surely delay Tiger's announce date a week or so...depending on how fast the order for a new drive goes through at Other World Computing.
 
Apple Isn't Stupid

They know darn well that if the rumor mill churns fast enough, everyone will be talking about the "release" on the suspected release date. How many of you have been to apple's site and refreshed the page a bajillion times already hoping to see something new?
Unfortunately for all of us, we have been played by our own rumor mongering and Steve Jobs is standing behind a terminal in Cupertino looking at the Home Page and Apple Store bandwidth graph laughing his ass off.

Pope delaying announcement of Tiger

There were a lot of posts on this thread, so I don't know if I'm the first to consider that the Pope's kind of "hogging" all the press today. A smart VP of marketting would have pulled every bit of press the moment he heard that every network anchor-person had bought a ticket for Rome.

I just gassed up the Jeep. $2.08.9 for Unleaded Regular. $29.USD for almost 13.8 US gallons. (Lakeland TN). I'm getting 19-20 US miles-per-gallon, mostly in-town driving on mostly paved roads.
... you will have to do the math to convert it all to Euro's and liters and kilometers.

Mac OS 10.4 Panther @ $129 plus tax title and license.

Let's see how I can afford to splurge and buy a copy of Tiger:
$50 to do the neighbor's lawn and trimming, the first time of the season. Twice a month at $40 each. And a tank of gas in between. And gas for the mower ...
... I just might have enough money to buy Tiger when it's at version 10.4.2. :rolleyes:

Looks like I will have to mow more than one neighbor's yard. :cool:
 
meh so i was right yesterday.. ain't gonna happen.. maybe this tuesday.. but reality seems to state it will come out for final release at wwdc :(
 
First half of 2005 did he say?

Announced June 15th, available June 30th....

Of course we in Australia will have to wait in line as usual and will probably get Tiger sometime in 2006. :cool:
 
I was really hoping to see the "Tiger Countdown Clock" when I opened apple.com earlier today. Especially with all the fuss about the "Final Candidate" and "Gold Master" the past couple of days.

oh well... Happy April Fools Day from Apple :(
 
this was one big effing april fools joke.. and we all failed to see it. ahha funny come to think of it :p watch it be released tomm :eek:
 
Not looking good for an official announcement... The last hope would be a press release issued at the end of the business day. But that seems off for something as big as Tiger.
 
its probably been seen a million times already, but its not gonna happen today. ooh well. least i started playing Golden Sun again on this waiting day :)
