Based on what I have seen, Samsung have the same problem too but worse.

iPhone 7 in general have warm feeling due to native white point is closer to calibrated, but some are just piss yellow.

So far from what I am seeing is that Apple have consistently having Yellow tint issue is due to cost cutting.

I have yet seen others have similar issue in such a scale. Like Surface as an example.

What about the 13-inch screen?

I checked out the 2017 model recently and the build felt identical to my 2016 model. I think that when people are perceiving improvements to the build of the 2017, they are making comparisons with faulty 2016 models they sent back.

But people are determined that the 2017 model has 'fixed' a lot of the issues, they are sturdier and better built, and people often cite opinion as the reason behind this. You're right though, you can't judge a faulty product to a none faulty one and draw the conclusion that B is better than A. Millions of 2016s out there suffering zero issues after all.

Precisely that - many have no issues with the 2016s at all. I am one of those people which is probably why I do not notice any improvements in the 2017s. It may be the case that the 2017s are consistently trouble-free compared to the more inconsistent 2016s of course...

I have issue of battery life it is not 10 hours but 6 hours

To me it was the keyboard. I tried numerous 2016 15" books at 3 Apple stores and several Best Buy and they all had keyboards that had stuck keys. Please don't tell me that is normal for demo machines since the 2015 that were on displays had perfectly working keyboards. I am glad I waited for the 2017 version for the keyboard alone.

On the other hand, I've never once experienced a stuck key issue with my 2016.

Yes, I am sure not everyone is affected but there were enough to make me wait for the updated one.

I have a feeling what happened is that the machines are identical (aside from speed bump) but quality control has increased in response to all the complaints.

And this is a normal thing with mass industrial processes – they get fine-tuned over time. Obviously I have no source or facts to cite, but just judging based on everyone's accounts.

(Also: my 2016 has been absolutely perfect, and has had none of the problems mentioned)

Just got my 15in 2017 high end model. Loving it so far. The touch bar is pretty useful actually. I didn't program the stupid emojis though, lol.

But everything else works well. Also love the fingerprint sensor

No complaints about the build quality. Absolutely superb

Installed Shadow Tactics and it played really smoothly.

That is highly possible. I have a 2016 and while I see that some keys (especially the shift on either side) is clackier than any other key, the entire keyboard is still responsive and nimble.

For myself and just my opinion and perception, I did an experiment yesterday.

- typed 500 or so words out of my heart on the 2011 MBP keyboard.
- typed 500 or so words on the 2016 MBP keyboard.

Made some observations.

2011 Keyboard:

The keyboard surprises me with its accuracy. Rather, my accuracy on it. I can type on it without making many mistakes. The keyboard has a decent spring to it that is very noticeable in feeling. The tension in the spring is felt, too. The keyboard does not feel hurting my fingertips as of now, but the feel of the keypress is definitely more than the new keyboards to the point where I am wondering if these old ones need some oiling or something. Actuation is a little hard and travel a little too much.

2016 Keyboard:

First thing is I feel I have not yet developed enough muscle memory for this new keyboard. Second thing is that I feel that actuation is good, far lighter, but I am tending to be occasionally slowed down. Well, I am not missing any key so far, I am not. Each and every key I am pressing is getting registered, and the feel is really softer than the old MacBook Pro 2011 keyboard.

However, I am getting a slight feeling that the keys are having slightly different actuation for those keys that are not getting used that much. The ones that are getting used the most are the ones that are softer to type on. This butterfly might require a break in, I think.

After typing on both keyboards, I can say that I prefer the new keyboard more because it feels lighter to type on due to its lighter actuation, and the lesser travel is good. There are some keys that slow me down because it feels like that key did not get pressed so reaction is to stop, but I think this will go once I really ram this keyboard for some hours of keystrokes.

I am not saying others are not having issues, many and most might be genuine, but I do feel that the issue with keys is a little blown up. As someone said, this is a polarising keyboard. :p

About the keys on the 2017 MBP 15", do they get scratched easily? Do the paints get lost over time? Of the rMBP 2014 and previous models, I used a moshi keyboard cover. Since the keys on the 2017 models are shallow, I don't know if adding a keyboard cover would impair the typing. Perhaps that could reduce the sound of the key stroke?

I use ezquest keyboard cover for Macbook Pro 15 inch (2017), typing is very comfortable and the keys remains "like new"

FYI guys as people still don't seem to understand this:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203671

Use them at your own risk, just understand Apple won't be repairing your display and please don't come back on here moaning in a few years.

Thanks for the warning. Not sure about models after rMBP 204 15". I had no issue with the screen even with palm rest and keyboard covers. The MBP 2016-17 15" may be different. Any experience?

In the 2010 and a few models before it, some ugly dark sports showed up in the palm rest area due to sweat of the users. How about the 2017 model?

The 2016 + models are even tighter tolerances. I could find official Apple guidelines but take that one as enough.

Thanks for the feedback. What brand and model are you using?

In the past I have used KB Keyboard covers but now I am using a Kuzy Keyboard covers. Been using keyboard covers with all of my MacBook Pros since 2006, I have had 7 MacBook Pros since 2006.

On the 2017 15" model, do you find that even with keyboard covers, square marks of the keys are shown on the screen?

Some what but I also keep a microfiber cloth in my laptop bag and clean the laptop screen once a week with I Keller screen cleaner so I don't see them.
