FWIW, I am happy to concede that my experiences may not be due to ram. It's honestly irrelevant (to me) what causes what I see. I'd just rather have a more fluid experience as I have on previous devices.

So, here is where I am confused.

Unsure where anyone claimed the phone is crappy an unusable...
Meanwhile, people are claiming they never have reloading tabs or framreate hiccups...

The further confusing thing is people (I won't name names) literally telling me my phone must be a defect because they have flawless "buttery smooth" performance 100% of the time. Again, either they are lying, they have some sort of unicorn iPhone 6 plus, or the guys at Apple are lying. Those are really the only options I see.
Just read again almost every post of sunking101.... He's depicting the iPhone 6+ as an almost unusable phone for web browsing and multitasking. That's a pain lie.
As for frame rateb hiccups, I can't see any on my iPhone 6, but I don't consider that an issue, so I'm not very picky about that

----------

The iPhone 5 reloads tabs and apps wayyyyy less than the iPhone 6+. Which phone is exhibiting 'normal operation', the new one or the one from over two years ago?

That's not true. Period.
And stop comparing reloads of apps and tabs as they were the same thing: they aren't.
Try to learn how iOS manages multitasking first.

Is your phone slow right after a reboot, or only after a while? Does it speed up if you close all but the app you are using (double tap on the Home button and flick all background apps off the screen).

If you are one of the few having a problem, then either:

a) you have a hardware problem
or
b) you have a software problem

If (a), then have it replaced.
If (b), identify the culprit app. Notify Apple and the developer.

I want to trade iPad airs with you :p

I still love the device and use it more than any other computer, but I get tab and app reloads on a regular basis
I posted several videos about my iPad on this forum to demonstrate that. Several, in any situation required by others users.
The only precaution I use is a reboot every 2-3 days and close unused app in the multitasking switcher.
I can browse multiple tabs with a couple of apps in background flawlessly.
Di you need another video ?
They asked me to test in every way: wait 30 seconds, now wait 2 minutes, change tab, came back to their first, scroll down and back again.....

I don't need a video , no thanks.

I'm just saying my experience is different and I've always experienced tab (usually only use a single tab) reloads and full app refreshes on iPad air on iOS 7 and 8. It is not a life and death issue, but there is room for improvement for me.

What are you talking about?

You clearly have no idea on how multitasking works in iOS, right ?
This is not Android. Apps don't just stay active in background forever. And poorly written apps can work very bad in that situation.
1 Gb of ram surely is a constrain. Lazy developers just don't care. 1 Gb of ram means that developers have to think about what they are coding.
Maybe you are just using a couple of poorly written apps (plus Safari that is a memory hog).
I suggested you a million times to give mercury browser a try. Did you try it ? I'm sure no. It's so much better to come here and complain.....

My Air isn't reloading apps nor tabs. I'm usually working with 3-4 tabs, Message, Mail and iTranslate working flawlessly..

You must have an Air touched by divinity! I get reloads on my Air with just 2 tabs open sometimes.... 3 - 4 lead to definite reloads!

There is already space for improvements, for sure.
But please take a look at my last video.... The slow time was requested specifically by an user...

It's nothing magic.

It's pretty much the same all the time. And I am not stating that it is "slow'. But there are noticable frame rate drops. Tabs also reload rather frequently. I also fairly regularly get the "safari could not load this page" error. I say regularly, but I browse, what I would consider to be, a lot on my phone. It is probably the number on thing I do.

I mentioned a few posts back that I have taken it in twice. Both times I was told my phone was acting perfectly normally.

I am not going to go read every single post, obviously, but I have read quite a few. None of them claim it is unusable garbage. Being dissatisfied with something does not mean it is unusable, or that it's garbage. If you can point to any quote where either of those things were said, I will admit I am wrong, and that I missed that post.

I can go on all the night.....

Not saying I don;t appreciate the video, but you literally had three tabs open and then you manually reloaded one. You didn't create 2-3 more tabs. You didn't load another app. The latter two scenarios are what people are unhappy with.

If your above video is what you are citing as "no issues reloading", I can replicate that exact scenario on all of our devices as well. Thing is, that's not what people (or at least I) are talking about.

Use a 6+ for anything other than SMS and calls before you claim things like that. This thing performs like it has 250Mb of RAM.

Post #208 .... and many others.
Is that enough?

You didn't create 2-3 more tabs ??? So you basically think that those tabs just appeared out of God intervention on my iPad ???
What are you saying??? I opened three tabs, THEN started the video. I could have started it before open tabs, what is the difference ? I loaded other pages and then returned back to the one where I was posting. NO RELOADS WHATSOEVER. My post was there, I completed it.
I didn't reloaded any tab: I opened another link, to add more data on memory and thus demonstrate that reloads aren't an issue.

No... You had three total tabs open. What I am saying is I, and most other, have issues with more than three tabs open. So, if it helps you understand what I am saying better, you only had three tabs, not five to six, which is where reloading is almost guaranteed.

Opening another lin (in the same tabs) simply dumps the memory of that tab and reloads it with the new data. That is my point. In theory you can click on links all day long as long as they don't open in another tab, but rather load within the original tab you were in, of course.

A smartphone defined good only for sms and voice call ? Yes.

IMO you are putting words in that person's mouth. Either he said it was garbage and unusable or he didn't. So far, I have been presented with no evidence that he did.

But why are we even arguing about sunking's post? He is one out of many. Are you saying the overall consensus here is that these phones are unusable garbage? If not, who cares what he said (or you think he meant)? He doesnt speak for me, or you, or the next guy.

No dear, on this forum there is people claiming that they are experiencing reloads also withb ONE SINGLE TAB. Just a few post above your.
I used three.... Tomorrow I will use four.
How many do you need ?
It's a f....g smartphone, not a laptop. Aren't four tabs enough for normal usage ? I could reach 5-6 maybe .... and then there would be someone looking for 7....

In my opinion 3-4 tabs are reasonable expectation for a tablet/ smartphone.

Here four tabs.... Now what? How many do you need?

It is certainly possible for a single tab to reload if you are doing something else in other apps. A single tab won't reload just sitting there, obviously.

I am not looking for anything from you. I was just commenting on the video and telling you what my experience was. I literally just repeated what you did on my plus. I have issues with usually 5 tabs. That's all I am saying. But if you can truly get 6 tabs loaded without reloading whatsoever on a plus, that's awesome. I envy your performance. I really do.

No reason for the language, by the way. The phone costs as much, or more than, a laptop. I like to use it as such. If our opinions differ on how or what we use the phone for, that's fine. You don't need to agree with or condone my usage patterns. In the same way, I don't feel like I have to be limited by the ideas of those who feel "it's just a phone" and therefore the reloading is perfectly ok.

I didn't put anything in his mouth.
He said the iPhone is good only for sms and voice calls. I quoted his exact words. But you are still denying that.....

I am not denying that. What I am denying is that he called it unusable garbage. He did not. There is no way you can spin that quoted sentence into "unusable garbage". Certainly not in the English language.

My watch costs even more than my iPhone. I don't expect it to be able to make voice calls or browse the net for that reason only.
Do you have reloads with 5 tabs ? It would probably happen to me too. Solution? I'm not using more than 4. Because I know I'm using a phone and not my MacBook.
And if sometimes a tab reloads, well I'm happy nevertheless, because I still can browse the web after the reload.
Does it make my iPhone good only for sms and voice calls ? Does it makes my iPhone 6 worse than my old iPhone 5 ?

You are the one spinning with other's words.

This is what I WROTE:

DEPICTING IT AS ALMOST UNUSABLE FOR WEB BROWSING AND MULTITASKING.
That's exactly what HE SAID.

Ok this is getting to the point of ridiculousness. My house cost more than your watch. Do you see where I am going here? Neither my house nor your watch have a web browser with the promise of getting you Internet access. I don't find it unreasonable to want to multitask without tab reloads under five or so tabs. You apparently feel that's askig too much? If so, your opinion is noted.

And no. I'm not spinning words at all. You stated that it was said the phone is unusable garbage. I asked you to back that up. IMO you didn't.

Regardless, he neither defines the thread, nor my feelings about the device, so the point is moot. You feel sinking things the iphone 6 plus is unusable garbage. Your opinion had been noted on that as well. If I had to pick something to contest with the statement it would be the ridiculous "performs like it has 250mb of ram" statement, but whatever. Nothing further from me on that since the back and forth is both pointless and derailing the thread.

Edit: I want to apologize for repeating "unusable garbage". Your direct quote was "crappy and unusable". If that is what you meant when you stated I was spinning your words I apologize. That was not my intention. :)

Regarding the 250-500Mb of RAM thing...what I meant was that as the iPhone 5 has 1GB of RAM and reloads tabs & apps way less than the 6+, it therefore makes the 6+ feel like it has less RAM than the iPhone 5.
