I was thinking of selling my air to get a mini if it has Touch ID. I plan on buying a new iPhone early 2015 and wanted both devices to have Touch ID. But I may just buy the iPhone 6(I have the 5 now) and get a rMBP 13 so I can strengthen my :apple: ecosystem.

Buying whatever new iPad mini is announced to replace my first gen. My iPad Air should go at least another three years before I feel a burning need to replace it like I did with my first generation iPad before it.

sweet... yea im wid you I wouldn't be itching to replace the air if you're already getting the mini 3.

Well, also the Air is plenty powerful. Even if I weren't due for an iPad mini upgrade (A5 to A8 is likely to be a sizable enough jump), my iPad Air is sure to last me a few years before I start seriously considering upgrading. That is, unless they roll out with a 256GB version.

I feel the same way about my iPad Air. I don't even use the Touch ID on my 5S so I know I wouldn't use it on the iPad.

uhm I use my touchID all the time.. best addition hardware wise to the iphone.

I have been skipping a generation on my iPads. I am extremely satisfied with the iPad Air. I don't see how it would be worth upgrading for me unless it's a HUGE increase. I'd like Touch ID, but it's not a big deal on the iPad. I'll probably wait & see what happens in 2015.

I just listed my iPad 3, 16 gig AT&T Black iPad on eBay. I'm listing it as buy it now. I sure hope someone buys it now!!:D

iPad this year will be a minor upgrade... well semi, because touchID is a great hardware upgrade. overall, the form factor remains the same so that's why I said semi upgrade. I would say 2015 would be the best option for everyone who wants a new form factor. not sure about the air, but more than likely the mini will change.

Update: SoI listed the iPad 3, and sold it in less than 24 hours. I asked more than the going rate of 340 dollars, but it looks like I should have asked for more lol.
My sig has been edited. Now I've got to wait f o r e v e r to get MY next gen iPad Air

I think I am going to hold onto my Air for at least another year. I do not think there will be any WOW I must have NOW features. I am sure that the Air will run smoothly on iOS 8 and can handle all of its new features. Yes, Touch ID would be cool, but that can wait. I rarely use that feature on my phone anyway.
