I'll be buying a sport band strictly for the gym. I'll just pop off the leather band I'm getting with the 42mm stainless steel right before I workout.

I don't think they are using such weak magnets.

But it depends on your training. If you are just running, or stationary, it might be okay... but can I jump rope? Can I play sports like squash or soccer? Don't think so. I do HIT (high-intensity interval training) and I don't think that a milanese will work with that.

Note for people who want leather bands:

Quality leather doesn't comer waterproof, because that hides the beauty and softness of the leather.

If you want to trade that for waterproofness, you have to buy waxes like that, either in cream, or soap bars, or even in spray and apply it yourself. It's easy.

You are so wrong. The problem with leather during workouts is not water resistance but chemical resistance. Your sweat is NOT only a water. Mainly it is sodium chloride and there is also some other organic chemicals like urea;)

That's why I am torn between elastometer and milanese loop. I am afraid that elastometer is not comfy since it is an artificial band. On the other hand milanese loop is great but we don't know how strong is the magnet. And I won't buy an extra band for workouts because I know that you'll get tired with the changing of the bands...believe me.

I'm planning on getting the Leather Loop for everyday wear and for the gym/exercise I want to get both the White and black sport band, after spending £599 on the Watch with Leather Loop i wouldn't want to ruin the leather by sweating all over it in the gym.

I will get the SS with Milanese loop and buy an extra black sport band for doing exercises.

Already looked it up way before posting my post. According to iMore the 42mm Milanese Loop is 41g and the Link is 75g. The black rubber band I referred to is 37g.

It's actually 40g for the 42mm black Sport band, just 1g lighter than the Milanese loop counterpart. In the 37mm size, the Milanese loop (as well as the leather bands) is lighter than the black Sport band.

Again, I'm going by what iMore is reporting. They have been a reliable source in the past. They are reporting 37g for the 42mm blank band so I'm going with that. You believe whatever other site you want to believe. I'm not going to lose sleep over it either way. I wouldn't want to work out with a Milanese loop. Honestly, regardless of weight it would look like a SNL parody of Apple Nerds.

Well. I'm buying the Apple Watch Sport primarily for exercise, so yes indeed!

Same, but I'm thinking about getting a Leather Loop black for the Sport too. Since the connectors on the loop aren't steel, galvanic corrosion shouldn't be that much of an issue.

They don't come with two bands... please be serious.

I don't think we know yet what "two bands" means.

Some Apple reps say there are two entirely separate bands in the box. Others say they don't know yet.

It's not a huge deal to me, really.

----------

1 band with buckle and 2 bands with the hole

Only problem there is that they'll fit oddly on the wrists of some people (where they close) if everyone has the same length buckle band.

This is the strongest argument suggesting the existence of two full bands. However, the strongest evidence arguing against the existence of two full bands is that the fastener has only 38mm or 42mm stamped on it. Nobody to date has uncovered evidence that it has S/M or M/L stamped on it.

We'll find out sooner or later.

Its so hard to tell in this picture, but is the model wearing the Space Black SS or the SS?

Space Black.

Yes.
Thank you.
Obvious to me... (& you, apparently!) :)
I don't see how this is a mystery to anybody.
Obviously, at a value of $49 a pop... they're not including two with every single of the very cheapest Watch available! Hate to resort to such an overused phrase but... that is DEFINITELY not "Apple-like".

Space Black.

Yeah. I'll need to see one up close for any of it to make sense.

This. The manufacturing cost of the sport band has got to be dirt cheap. It wouldn't add that much to the overall cost to add another full band in the packaging.

For sure....
& even though the $29.99 lightning charger costs only a few pennies to make, and absolutely everyone could benefit from having a spare (unlike the one in fifty people that would be the right size for BOTH a small and a large rubber band), do you see Apple giving those away for free, instead of.... oh say, SELLING them????
Get over it. You guys are wrong. It's the most preposterous supposition so far...
Can you imagine how devalued Apple would be making their $49 sport band if literally TWO of them come with every single one of the cheapest watch?? How would they hope to sell a single one as an additional accessory? The market would be IMMEDIATELY flooded with them.
Not to mention that... after clinching a reputation as the "green tech company", it would be the height of frivolous wastefulness to include a second (useless to most), different sized piece of rubber in every single box.
I could likely go on for a few dozen more paragraphs, outlining many more rational reasons why we can all be assured that Apple will NOT be including a 2nd, free strap with any of their watches, but honestly... I feel like anyone still holding on to this near impossibility won't let a thing like logic sway them. =P

It took me a moment to realize there was a watch in that picture!

Having had a mesh metal watch band before I can say it was okay to wear when exercising. It was actually more comfortable than any of the rubbery plastic bands that trap sweat that I've owned since then.
