No.
  1. My battery is currently lasting 3-4 hours after SMC reset.
  2. I'm having weird sensitivities with my keyboard (sometimes keys aren't recognizing).
  3. When clicking shut down, it's often just hanging and requiring me to manually hold button.
  4. And tangentially related: the store employee said it was Space Gray and getting home found that it was a Silver.
Taking the computer to Apple tomorrow to try to get it replaced... really expected better of this.

**** no. I just picker mine up today and the keyboard is a pain in the ass. It's also loud when you hit them buttons.

The OLED touch bar isn't bright enough either and I can't increase its brightness. Is this even possible??

Performance is noticeably slow compared to the my mid 2014 15" MBP.

I am seriously struggling with this new keyboard. Non-stop typos. I am used to the earlier version and have been using s mechanical keyboard recently so everything is screwed.

Battery life seems to perform worse too. Defiantly unsatisfied for the price. Im pissed. And the position of the Siri button on the toucher bar is stupid too.

The color is stated on the box. I agree tho sounds like maybe you got a lemon IDK. Maybe swap it out

My bar is plenty bright. A option to adjust tho would be nice. You can move the Siri button to anywhere you want.

I thought I'd mention, that this is the first computer I've ever owned that I actually had to reduce the brightness, and I'm a brightness junkie, yet at 500 nits it will burn your eyeballs out :D You can tell on some pages that it's 500 nits. This is worth mentioning as in some lighting conditions, it's going to be painful. Of course more is better. You just have to be careful. ( I should probably try the auto feature, just never liked it before)

It's not washed out either.

I've never had a Mac laptop before, but I'm happy with it, besides 3 finger drag working sporadically. The keyboard gets a bad rap, but I like it, and like the Magic Keyboard as well. Plenty fast and the large touchpad is great for gestures, I like my Magic Trackpad too. Touch Bar is cleverly implemented and almost bridges the gap between Messages in iOS and Mac.

Can't wait till I get my 5K LG monitor with it, although I'm worried it will ONLY work with my MBP in the future due to its 'hacky' way of connecting with two DisplayPort streams..

I never saw the actual computer box. He went in the back to get the exact model I requested (13" i7/16/512 Space Gray) and came out with it already in the shopping bag.

I'm gonna go to Apple tomorrow.

I picked up the 13" TB MacBook Pro with 512gb SSD today at my Apple Store in NYC and so far I'm enjoying it! Coming from a 2013 MBP I really enjoy the changes to the design and form factor.

-The screen is gorgeous - noticeably brighter and more crisp than my previous model.
-I am a big fan of this keyboard! It's so smooth and wonderful to type on; a little bit a learning curve but it feels great. In a way in reminds me of a modified version of the old PowerBook keyboard (not exactly the same obviously).
-The Touch Bar is much more practical than I anticipated. I find some of the design/commands very useful and other things (like quickly turning up the volume or pausing iTunes) a bit clunky... but no doubt I will adapt. I definitely do not think it's a gimmick and will feel a void on other computers that do not have it.
-I haven't been able to really stress test the battery life yet but it seems to be holding up well
-Giant trackpad... how did I live without it?!
-I sort of miss the Magsafe, but also part of me doesn't really care. As I've been getting the computer setup, transferring files, and moving around my tiny NYC apartment I've already found myself plugging the charger in on both sides of the MBP - which instantly feels useful.
-I bought the USB-A adapter and honestly I think that will be all I need. I rarely plug peripherals in and don't foresee any issues. I will just carry this adapter around in my bag in case I ever need it. My typically transfer files through AirDrop/Dropbox/iCloud Drive, backup and sync my iPhone and iPad wirelessly through iTunes when needed, etc. Also, thanks Apple for lowering the price to $9 for the adapter- no grievance from me about dongles whatsoever.
-Adobe CC 2017 performs really well on this machine.... no crazy improvements from my 3 year old MBP but also no new issues.

Love my new everyday MacBook Pro and can't wait to take it around NYC daily!

I have had my non tochbar MacBook Pro for a week now and I am loving it. I am still within the return policy and considering one with the toucher, but I doubt that I will change. Right now it's such a great improvement over my early 2011 MacBook Pro and it's even faster than my 2014 iMac. It's so light and takes up such little space i my briefcase that sometimes I have to check to make sure it's still there. I love the keyboard, it's fantastic and the screen is just amazing. The sound quality is excellent and from what I understand there is a difference in the way the touch bar Macs sound since there sounds come from the rear and the non toucher comes from the front. In the past week I have found myself puling this machine out more than my iPad Pro9.7.

I got a 13" touchbar, and it's been wonderful for me. I came from a 2009 13" MBP and this is obviously a huge improvement. All of the things that worried me haven't been an issue. I have used the USB dongle more than a few times but considering the benefits the future holds for USB-C, I'm ok with it. I miss the magsafe a little but being able to plug it in on either side of the laptop is amazing. The keyboard isn't as loud as I expected, and I can type on it fine. The touchbar is a cool feature, the only thing I have found is that I apparently let my left hand rest on the esc key, now this causes the escape button to go off since it's touch sensitive. The battery life has been acceptable, I don't use it heavily so it lasts well over a day on a charge with my usage. I've played a couple light games on it and it handles them very well, which means it has all the graphical performance I personally need.

The only thing I didn't like was the cost, I was expecting around $2k, but in order to get both 512/16GB I had to go over that, which is crazy... But worth it since I hope to have this baby last for 5-6 years.

I have a 2.6 512gb 15" Touch Bar coming from a 2015 15" Pro. I love the touch bar and I'm getting use to the keyboard. Screen is on par with my 2015 maybe a bit brighter. The only problem I have had is I can't seem to do a time machine backup. Just taking hours to do 45gb. Otherwise, a great update. Pricey:)

I'm thinking about jumping from a Late 2013 15''.
What about responsiveness and UI smoothness (Mission Control, Launchpad, big PDFs and complex websites) compared to the old 15'' Pro? Some say there are stutters and frame drops due to the weaker HD530 iGPU.
Also, is the more compact & lighter form factor noticeable?

Yeah same! I'm considering on upgrading from a Late 2013 model and would like to see how much the UI animations are going to be affected by the dropping of Iris Pro.

13" Touchbar version.

Like it a lot. Battery life might be a little worse than my old MacBook but Im not certain. Really like the keyboard, touchbar, size, and trackpad (still has no equal).

Something sounds off if it is taking hours to do a TM of 45GB, and you are using at least a USB 3.0 backup source. My first TM backup (of 53GB) on my new late 2016 MBP 13" took about 12 minutes using a WD My Passport For Mac 3.0 drive.

No, I'm not happy with my late 2016.

After 15" late 2011, late 2013 and mid-2015 I had which fully met my expectations even before I got my hands on them and especially after that, 15" late 2016 did not meet my expectations on announcement but I still had a lot of trust in Apple for previous models to order a high BTO model of it. After the announcement there is less and less trust considering all the fuss that surfaced (no pun intended) about it. Still waiting for it to arrive since I'm in Europe.

Hope for the best, preparing for the worst.

P. S. The fact that two of my acquaintances have maxed-out Lenovo P50 and HP Zbook Studio does not make the situation any better considering I buy Macs for the hardware not the OS. In case of Lenovo you abandon thinness though. In case of HP you don't.

Love it! I'm coming from an iMac 5K... I've previously owned MBPs and have returned to them. I had a MacBook that I used for portability... Gave that and the iMac up for a BTO 15"... Couldn't be happier. I'm a big fan of the extra big trackpad as well as the new keyboard. I hope Apple comes out with a USB-C keyboard with the same feel. I don't know about battery life, since I mostly leave mine plugged in.

You're not happy with your laptop that you haven't even received yet because of the specs and what others have complained about?

My local store didn't have that exact BTO config, but they had a few of the 15" 2.9Ghz/1TB/460 Pro configs in Space Gray.
I was told yesterday, they would never have that confit in stores. That is what I ordered, but mine says December 19-23.
