:cool:I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm definitely OCD about the battery performance.

I want to constantly clean my screen if I use a glossy screen protector. This is the reason why I purchased SGP Ultra Matte + SGP Steinheil Anti Fingerprint. Front and back are matte and reducing (greatly) the number of times I have to wipe those fingerprints off.....

I love the "it's just a phone" people. It's like they say it to make themselves feel better about their own OCD tendencies towards caring for their device which cost them hundreds of dollars.

Or they actually don't have OCD.

Maybe it's just me but the build quality is great. I keep it in my purse with my keys. Casually throw it on my bed. I don't have any scratches on the screen so, I don't see a use to get an invisible shield (which imo, makes the screen feel weird) or put it one of those ugly otterbox prison cell...err.. cases. I even dropped it accidentally a couple of times. No scratches. I find just keeping it in a TPU case works just fine to maintain its good condition.

Just treat it like a phone and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

I used it for a week with no case or shield and actually liked it more than when I had it in a bumper or shield.

I use mine with no case nor a screen protector and it feels so nice. I honestly probably won't even buy a case.

Shows how much you know about the iPhone. It's more like a computer that has the ability to make phone calls. It's not just a phone.

Yeah, it kinda is like a computer. But all computers have the ability to make calls. :D

I wash my hands before I touch my phone, fingerprints are EVIL!

Fingerprints get on mine constantly. I just wipe them off using my shirt every so often.

It's only money.

Seriously; I do not use a case and throw it around like any other phone. Only thing I'm careful about is to not drop it. Don't wanna break that glass :p

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

One can not be OCD. OCD is not a state of being. One can be OC or one can have OCD. Will people ever grasp this? Saying someone is OCD is just as dumb as calling it an ATM machine.

I have my alarm set for intervals of two hours at night, I wake up and clean it at 1am, 3am and 5am. I then leave to work at 6am, my iPhone stays in a pedestal at home all day so that I wont put fingerprints in it. When I get home from work at 6pm I eat, stare at my phone for a good hour and then at around 7:30 all of my friends and family gather at my home so that we can worship my phone.

Honestly I used to be OCD with my 3GS. Cleaning it all the time and making sure it doesn't get scratches on the chrome.

With my iPhone 4 my brain is a little more at ease. I clean the screen often, but not too often, I might wipe the back down once a day if that but I am not as inclined to worry about leaving the phone on a table (like I did with 3GS) or worry about it being naked.

its just a phone.

No it's not!

It's a navigation device (forget the wife), games console (forget the wife), internet portal (forget the lappy), and a multutde of other roles.

It's just a 'phone' - the iPhone is NOT.

Has anyone given their iPhone a name?

In iTunes it's Anthony's iPhone 4

other than that, it is not my boat and or one of my children however my 17 year old knows not to touch my iPhone, use any of my tools, my truck etc, but hands off the iPhone 4 because he has a 3GS and is Jonzin' to get an iPhone 4

Yeah, except I got comments just because I said I find myself getting out the micro-fiber a lot to clean the screen. I wouldn't exactly call that excessive. I clean the screen because the retina display really makes the smears and fingerprints annoying. *shrug*

To me it's less that someone finds something in particular that someone does overboard and more people who just want to take cracks at people who actually say they care about their device.

I honestly don't think anyone who bothers to read and post about their iPhone can really be said to be on the level of "it's just a phone".

If it was "just a phone", what point would their be in being here? You would simply use the device for it's intended purpose and be done with it.

It's just a phone and you'll probably get a new iPhone in the next year or two so don't worry about it too much. Just have fun with it.

Plus 1

If it were just a phone ppl wouldn't be here and so sensitive about it but I bet those who say

"It's Just a Phone" are really worse then the rest of us or they are sensitive about something else like a car but hey it's just a car right.

Take care of anything you own and it will last whether you pay $100 or $10,000.00.

I take great care of all of my stuff, especially electronics, but I can't say that I am OCD. For some reason, I have never had as much of a concern/attachment to phones as I have to other devices, like a laptop or computer.

With the iPad, I somehow managed to use it without a screen protector and it is awesome. The screen seems durable enough and it's great to touch.

I don't know, perhaps I am loosening up on this issue.

I think different people have different things.

I'm cleaning the screen of my iPhone 4 far more then I did my previous iPhones...but I don't use a screen protector or anything like that.

I'm not worried about the glass itself being dirty...I'm worried about clearly seeing that awesome display. Fingerprints and smears didn't even bother me on my previous iPhones.

You bet. I transport it everywhere I go in its box, wrapped in linen. On the rare occasions that I actually remove it from the box, I handle it only with latex gloves. It does make the touch screen hard to use, but it stays clean. I don't ever put any data on it, because it might get infected. I lightly microwave it morning and night, just in case. I have high quality screen and back protectors under my Invisible Shield, in case dust gets through the box and the linen wrapping. I keep it in my safe deposit box overnight, every night. I miss it on weekends, of course, but that's two fewer days that I have to worry about harm coming to it, so it's worth it. If anyone ever asks to see it, I tell them to **** off, it's MINE. That way, I don't mind so much not using it, because I have no friends, and no need to call or text anyone.

I turn the screen to the inside of my leg when it's in my pocket.
I wipe the screen before showing it to anyone.
I never throw it or toss it to anything or anyone.
I barely let the gf even play with it. She has her 3G and I tell her to play with hers. ;)
I'm generally very careful with the phone.
