  • Rotate cases (daily)
  • Change screen protectors (at least once a month) NOTE: I buy protectors in bulk so if even one speck of lint gets under the protector, it gets trashed.
  • Monitor free space on iPhone to ensure I have ~13gb free (not sure why...I just do it. 13 seems like a nice number)
  • Ensure each song on iPhone has correct album art attached to it.
  • Clean daily.

EDIT: This is just for the "maintenance" of the phone. Playlists, apps, etc, completely different matter which deserves a thread unto itself.

I think I may need help

I think there are pills you can take that may help you.

I have had my 2G for 2.5+ years without a case and hardly a scratch anywhere on the phone. No OCD here but just took care of it. When I get the iP4 I will have to use something because the glass back looks like it gets surface scratches easily. Surface scratches bug the hell out of me.

Wow I thought I was bad... lol

You make me feel quite normal now!

Well I've never cleaned an iPhone before as much as I clean this one.

I'm constantly getting the micro-fiber out and going at it.

The face thing made me laugh... hahah.
I will probably "go at it" with my iPhone as well. :p

My iPod Touch though has been babied pretty well though. All songs have their album covers- that really irritates me when they aren't there. Have had a screen protector and an incase slider case on it since day 1. I clean that every 1-2 weeks depending on how much I feel like cleaning it, and try my best not to drop it- it has had its slips though.

I am, but thankfully not as much as my previous 3G.
Only because the iPhone 4 is a lot more sturdy and structured, where as the 3G, it was plastic, and had chrome all around it. Now I can just use a screen protector front AND back.....
love it!

I turn the screen to the inside of my leg when it's in my pocket.
I wipe the screen before showing it to anyone.
I never throw it or toss it to anything or anyone.
I barely let the gf even play with it. She has her 3G and I tell her to play with hers. ;)
I'm generally very careful with the phone.

You keep that up and soon she will be telling you to play with yourself...

I like mine naked, except with the bumper. I keep it in a small Sony camera bag which fits perfect, has soft padded interior and a carabineer hook to go on a belt strap for easy access. I have well over 100 apps which I keep in organized folders and update daily and sync to iTunes. I keep a micro cloth with me when I have my iPhone 4 and it's been just over a month now, not a single scratch! :D

I'm pretty OCD, trying to keep fingerprints and dust off the phone but I think some of you put me to shame.

Wow people. To each their own, though. I use an ifrogz case, no screen protector, and wipe the smudges daily. I'm careful as to where I place my phone in my purse so I'm not worried about scratches. Had the phone for over a month and none on the screen yet.
And as others have said, I rarely use the phone aspect unless it's to my parents, mostly.

My biggest reason for being OCD about the phone has little to do with being "obsessed" with it. Sure, I like to keep my things looking like new, but what it comes down to is resale value. Some of us aren't made of bags of money like some of you, so the way we keep up with getting to have a new toy every year is sell the years previous in mint condition - And make a profit while we're at it.

AT&T gives me yearly upgrades, so since the original iPhone I've always sold the previous model after buying the newer one for more than I paid for it a year ago.

It's more like protecting an investment then being obsessive about it... but I can only speak for myself. Some of you really are OCD :)

Some of you need to seek professional help.

I usually clean off my iPhone after I go to the gym every day and I keep my apps simple (the app store is not that great, especially with a retina display...can you say updates?).

It's definitely important to take care of nice things in life but in the end I spent most of my day using the features to make my life easier.

In my opinion, iPhone 4 is lightyears beyond the iPad. It's become my personal computer.

as previously stated, how can one be a disorder, as in "I'm OCD"? You cannot be obsessive complulsive disorder, although you can have it.

iPhone 4 has turned me into an obsessive hand washer. My girlfriend called me out and said I was turning into a "germaphobe" but ironically enough she said it as my garlic bread fell onto the floor - called 10 second rule and blew any particles off it. Was like brand new.

I have an iPad and for some reason the finger printsndont bother me as much. But with the iPhone 4 I find myself constantly carrying around my iMacs microfiber cloth.

Oh and I'm real particular about every single song having the right album art work, but ive been that way since the original iPhone.

I am glad to know now that I am not the only one that the iPhone made OCD! I am always looking for that perfect case. I am always washing my hands. I am always cleaning and polishing the phone with iKlear and I am always very cautious when using it to avoid dropping. I think we need help!!!!

I take are of my possessions. But what's the point of going nuts keeping it pristine only to have the next owner have a brand new looking device in 2 years. Or end up with a very nice looking paperweight.

My plan:

1) Buy Otterbox Defender case - Check
2) Buy 32GB iPhone 4 - Check
3) Receive iPhone 4 in a few days and leave all factory coverings on it - Pending
4) Immediately seal iPhone 4 in Ziplock bag - Pending
5) Receive Otterbox Defender (hopefully soon), remove factory coverings from iPhone 4, and immediately insert iPhone 4 into case - Pending

Prestine condition = much better resell value

Is it just me or does the aluminum bezel get scratched up easily? Almost all of the iPhone 4's at my local Apple store are all beat up.

Haha, yeah I find myself doing that a lot. My perfect combo right now is PowerSupport Crystal backing, Speck GeoMetric case, and SGP Ultra Oleophobic on the front.

Not completely fingerprint free, but keeps everything looking fantastic on top of excellent protection. No sacrifice in screen clarity.

On a side note, once the Otterbox defenders hit AT&T stores, I'll be buying one for those times I'm at concerts and feel like I need the extra protection. :)
