5.5 because it will be easier to text, and I will have more screen real estate to work with... And because it'll be different!!!

I originally was dead set on 5.5 until I held some 5-5.5" phones last weekend.
4.5-4.7" or so is perfect IMHO.

Go Big or Go Home

5.5" iPhone [L] Pro Plus! ;)

1) My eyes aren't the best these days. Want a huge screen

2) My hands have never liked the tiny iPhone screen. I'm a pretty big guy.

3) Every 8 year old girl I see has an iPhone stuck in their back pocket and I'll feel better about myself having a bigger phone than they do because I'm a man, dern it!

4) Battery life. If the rumors of ~1800mAh and ~2900mAh are true, I believe the 5.5" will have vastly better battery life because the screen size won't eat up all that extra mAh

5) Much to the displeasure of some 4.7" fans, I believe the 5.5" will have better specs and I want the TOP of the line iPhone.

All that being said, I'm more excited about this phone than I have been for any model since the iPhone 4.

:apple:

Could not agree more, the bigger the better, even if there is a wait. I have had every phone (except for the first) on day one. Happy to wait (hope I don't have to) for the 5.5.

It depends on the release date and price. If the release date is the same and it's $399 max for the middle 5.5" model, I will consider that because I get $145 discount.

depending on the specs of the phone. i could really care less between the 4.7 and 5.5 screen size. if the specs are better on 5.5, 5.5 it is. if they are identical hardware wise, 4.7 will do.

4.7 here.. it's close to my current phone which is 4.5 (Nokia) and it's a good size.

Hoping they won't have vastly different specs though.

4.7 for me. I have no need for anything bigger than that!

In black, of course!

5.5 (hopefully in black or whatever it's gonna be this year, got white last time)

I do a ton on my phone. Apple trailers, Youtube, Safari, games, etc -- would be nice to have a larger, sharper screen for all of that. And hopefully it will be sharper.

It may feel awkward at first, but most new things do. I remember making the jump from a Sidekick LX phone to my first touch screen. One big reason I was opting not to go for the touch screen at all was because I was so used to a full qwerty keyboard.

5.5 won't feel comfortable right away but I'll make the necessary adjustments :)

I tried the LG G3, and it didn't really feel awkward.

Exactly the same with me.

5.5". When I had my iPad mini, I just wish it had the ability to natively text. The 5.5" screen seems like the closest achievement to that, even though it will still run iPhone apps instead of iPad apps.

And for those of you who suggest the continuity feature of iOS8, Im a minimalist who prefers to carry fewer devices. Cant wait until phones truly replace wallets!

^^^THIS^^^

I was sure 5.5 inches would be way too big. Like holding an iPad to my face. However when I held the LG G3, 5.5inches did not feel too big at all. It all comes down to how slim the device and bezels are. Probably will not be able to make a firm decision until I hold both.

The guy who showed me his didn't believe it was as big as 5.5, he thought it was just five. I had to show him the specs to make him a believer.

After trusting Apple only to get burned with Antennagate, followed the next two years with declining quality of the iPhone 5 & 5S I'm no longer willing to gamble.

I'll take the smart path and wait a year.

No gambling, we'll know they've sorted the bugs out by then. Just like they did with the 4S. The iPhone 6S or whatever they call it will be the one to buy.

No need to fatten Apple's coffers this year.

The bezels are key with the LG G3, that's for sure.

I agree with iossox, also got burned on the 4 and since then have bought the 4s, not a bad phone, and now have the 5s which is awesome.

I will wait for someone else to find all the bugs and complete the user acceptance testing and buy the fully tested version next year. And probably will get the 4.7 as I already have a perfectly usable iPad and only want a phone, that fits in my hand and pocket

Am I the only one getting both ? I have bought every iphone ever made and I won't be stopped!!

Currently am on a LG G3, 5.5" screen, so not sure i would be able to go back to a smaller screen size less than 5.5"
