If they let me get on stage up there and present the 5.5 I bet I could get it to sell more than the 4.7!

No but seriously. Everyone get the 4.7, I want my pre-order for the 5.5 to come faster.

I wonder which will be more readily available, the 4.7 due to larger quantity yet larger demand, or 5.5 due to lower demand, but lower quantity due to the supposed delays...

I've got a feeling if there is a 5.5 they've made less of them because obviously there is going to be a bigger demand for the 4.7

I'm undecided yet, I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Like the title says, which size are you going to order and why'd you pick it?

Will await an actual announcement, along with real facts, vice speculation, and choose from there. I have a year left on my contract with the 5s, and plan to keep it until at least then.

Not sure whether I'm buying this time around or waiting another iteration. When I do, it MUST fit in my pockets and be reasonable to use one handed. I'll be going into the store and trying one out for a while.

If the 5.5 doesn't seem too large (which I currently doubt) and the price isn't prohibitive then I'll go for it. If the 4.7 is more pocket/hand friendly or a good bit cheaper then I'll go for that.

Basically, I'm going to wait and see.

I would have to see since I have an iPad retina Mini. I was not planning to upgrade until well after after my current contract ends 9 months from now.

All that said, I dropped my iPhone 5 several times this evening. I think my subconscious is yelling at my extremely klutzy conscious or something. :D

my personal will be 5.5 in gold and i will use my upgrade on my work phone and get the 4.7 in space gray

After trusting Apple only to get burned with Antennagate, followed the next two years with declining quality of the iPhone 5 & 5S I'm no longer willing to gamble.

I'll take the smart path and wait a year.

No gambling, we'll know they've sorted the bugs out by then. Just like they did with the 4S. The iPhone 6S or whatever they call it will be the one to buy.

No need to fatten Apple's coffers this year.

I don't mind since I have found a way to effectively get an iPhone every year. By alternating our personal plan upgrades and my corporate plan upgrades I can get a new phone every year, and hand down my old phone to my wife.

I sincerely doubt there will be an iPhone I am so unhappy with I can't stand a year with it. Now two years, I can understand the hesitancy.

If those prices for the iPhone 6 are real... the leaked prices are 799 899 999 for 4.7 and 949 1049 1149 for the 5.5" device. Apple would be pricing themselves out of the game! Why would they charge $150 extra for 5.5"?

The perfect pricing would be 699, 799, 899 for 4.7 and 799, 899, 999 for 5.5". That would be about 450 subsidized for the middle model. I don't even know if I could afford the base 5.5 subsidized.

The 5.5" is far from a Tablet. Even my iPad Mini is significantly larger and still considered 'small' for a tablet.

Its actually pretty close to a tablet. Obviously it's still pocketable, but having owned a couple Notes, you also have the draw backs of a tablet. Due to bezel, a 5.5" iPhone will be completely unusable with one hand. A lot of people will say that their fine with this, but the truth is there's a lot of times where you only have one free hand and it's annoying to not be able to reach that damn notifications tray without the awkward hand shuffle.

Actually fact is as a serious mobile computing and communications engineer, I get several new phones each year on the platforms of my choice.

Although I still order and enjoy new MBPR & MBA laptops each year, this will be the first year I've found zero interest in an iPhone, a rather revealing position.

Conversely Android from version 4.2 forward has become my absolute favorite by a wide margin, another change I never would have predicted just two years ago. Androids expanded capabilities trounce iOS limitations for all I do.

For basic web enabled smartphones iPhone is a perfect simple starter phone for the masses. Thereby explaining their popularity.

In addition iPhones are perceived as cool and have a certain cache the women and many men love. They do make an attractive fashion accessory, something that Android will never be perceived as.

Oh, clearly if you have to use your phone for serious work, esp in IT setting, I would agree with you. There is no comparing the walled garden to the open source worlds out there in that respect.

The most I need technically is basic working outlook and calendar. The rest is just me screwing around. I gave up the open source world of win mo pro 6.5 for iOS back with the iPhone 4. Just too much work too keep it running with new skins and roms all the time. Was fun though. Unfortunately android was just a pup in the woods back then.

Wouldn't mind taking a cheap but usable android phone for a spin. Actually just ordered 3 lumia 521s to use as cheap media players and gps units to try out new WP. 1 for me and a couple for kids.

I have a brand new 5S, no need at all for me to spend any money on a phone. People that have to have the latest and greatest, especially if their current phone is working fine and looks fine is all about being materialistic. I'm not a materialistic person at all and don't have to buy something just because it is new. Spend that extra money you are going to buy your new phone with on a homeless kid. Buy them some new clothes and get them a hot meal. I bet you'll feel much better after doing that.

If both realized at the same time undoubtedly the 5.5 Bigger battery, Better spec supposedly, Camera. . .etc It's a no brainer for me. If they aren't released at the same time I'll get the 4.7 first then the 5.5 once it's released.

Here's hoping tomorrow they both are announced and will be ready!

I have the galaxy s4 and wish the screen was a little bit bigger so I will get the 5.5 if they announce it.
