I bet nearly every iPhone user with 4.0 and with over 3 pages of apps will use Folders. It's a great way to organize your apps :)

I love the idea. I always thought how they were going to organize app management.

Jack.

I love the idea of folders on OS 4. I don't like all the clutter on the home screen with all the different icons so I will be scaling it down to fit on all one home screen. I'll have a folder for Games, Entertainment, Media, etc. Can't wait.

It is ugly. The folder icon is far from elegant. Will I use it? Yes.

Apple needs to allow us to choose an icon for our folder. Either they can make several icons for obvious categories or we can use application icons.

As useful as the feature is, i don't think its gonna be used as much for me.
Before, i used Categories from Cydia and when i had all the things organized, i immediately hated it

<snip>
I just dont see myself using the Folders Feature
What about you?

I most likely will, I already have everything in folders on my iPhone using Pogoplank for my springboard. I could never go back to the traditional springboard. My OCD likes things very organized.

Yup

I've got a few apps that I often think about removing from my phone, but I don't do it just in case I need them. Folders will be a nice place to put all those things without having to have an extra page to swipe across.

It's not a major feature, but it'll be useful.

I organize simarily(sp?) but I'll use the folders cause many of my pages don't fit all my apps. I'd like to only have one page of each.

So I have
-INternet stuff
-game stuff
-productive/useful (money/bank/calendar) stuff
-stuff I use enough not to put in the not use folder
-overflow
-Stuff I don't use at all

I'd like to get rid of stuff I use enough and overflow and I think folders will help me do that.

Are you serious? I think they have done an amazing job implementing folders! You are even able to see small icons of apps that you put into it. It`s simple and elegant. I am always surprised how they always manage to do it so nicely.

Yes I will use them. Folders is one of the main reasons i jailbroke one of my devices. With my 3GS running 3.1.2 i can jailbreak, so im looking forward to it!

i will but probably only the jailbroken form

because with these new apple folders, they can only hold 12 apps each, so its not like you can just take your 3 pages of games and put them all into a games folder, you can just make your 3 pages of games into a very unorganized half page of games

so i'll wait until somebody takes that 12 app limit and combines apple folders (which will probably run faster) with categories SB

It's probably the only thing I'm excited about in 4.0 oh and the quick switch feature....uuummm I mean "multi-tasking"

I used Categories from Cydia for a while but it got to the point where it the Folders were either crashing or taking too long to load each time and then making the phone lag for the next few mins.

As long as Folders is implemented well, and from what I saw of the keynote it is, I'll definitely be using it.

Can someone post a pic of what the OS 4.0 folders look like?

Here's mine...

So much more organised and user-friendly than swiping left and right through pages. Just a shame you're limited to 12 apps in a folder, but then I can see it getting rather messy if more are allowed!

That's probably the ugliest home screen I have ever laid eyes on. Like, if I owned that phone I wouldn't even use it.

I thoroughly enjoyed using the folders when I had the 4.0 B1 installed on my phone. I typically use the default layout of where everything is on the phone when it's first setup, but now I can turn each one of those icons into a folder for similar applications.

I like it. Much more user friendly and saves time.
