There's no way I'll ever use folders. Spotlight works perfectly for launching things.

Spotlight is pretty cool, but I think folders is a faster way to arrange, find and launch apps. I use Spotlight on a mac more than the dock, but on the iPhone I think is different.

If I upgrade to OS 4.0 then yes, I will. I currently use categories on my iPhone. I love it and I love that I can customize the folder. I hope that's something you can do with 4.0 when it's officially out.

I think the way they implemented folders is kind of ugly. I'll probably just throw all the stock apple apps in one since I pretty much don't use any of them. We should really be given the choice to hide those apps, not even delete, just hide. I know this can be accomplished with a jailbreak but it's not worth it if that's all I'm going to use it for.

I love it. I do vote that they give a custom icon option, however. Here's my homescreen:

I don't have a ton of apps so I was able to clean up my screen really nicely and put everything in 4 folders on my dock. I then have one folder on page 2 for the stuff I don't use much. then I can see my wallpapers in all their glory.

Have it...then lose it...then you'll respect it so much more. I loaded 4.0 Beta 1 and loved going from 9 pages to 2...then had trouble finding a reliable Beta 2 download when it was released...I panicked knowing any day my phone would be bricked when Beta 1 expired...so I reverted back to 3.1.3...and having folders is the added feature I miss the most.

Here's mine...

So much more organised and user-friendly than swiping left and right through pages. Just a shame you're limited to 12 apps in a folder, but then I can see it getting rather messy if more are allowed!

folders are ugly as F...!!!!!!!!

come on apple, fix this....

I will make a Games folder to replace my screen full of games. That's it though, if I make too many categories it won't be any faster or more convenient.

Been waiting for folders ever since the app store.... I'm one of those people that just download apps all the time... Especially game demos.... My phone usually has 10 or more pages of apps, with hundreds more on my mbp... Not sure I like the idea of 2000 apps on my phone .... But the possibility is tempting... I will be very pleased when my apps are organized.... I do also like the idea of keeping the screen real estate open so I can see my wallpaper.... Especially now on my iPad!

I will use them, i absolutely doubt i wont like it, I usually play my games like twice a month when I'm waiting for something somewhere and when i borrow it to other people, so turning 1 or even 2 pages into a few folders will be awesome

I wont folder everything but as i quoted on other posts around here "I don't want to buy more apps anymore not because of the price but because i just increase the number of pages" and i usually end up deleting one app to get one, so no with folders I'll basically sync all the apps i own and just have those i don't use a lot categorized in folders

I can't see me using Folders when I eventually get 4.0 on my iPhone 3G, which is funny because it's the only main feature Apple are deeming 3G owners as "worthy" to get in this update. :D

I'm not hiding my apps away in folders, and I like the design of some of the app icons (especially games), and actually like swiping through pages of apps.

I've got 6 pages of apps on my iPhone 3G and it's 8GB, which according to iTunes is 4GB worth, along with 2GB of music, and I'm happy enough with my set up.

Definitely, quite honestly one of my favorite features of 4.0.

I'll have a Games folder, one for Web Apps, Rarely Used, Reference, etc.
