It's a shame that this new phone came with 9.0.2 preinstalled, as my last one had 9.0.1
I hadn't updated it as my battery life was fantastic and I'd heard a few people say that 9.0.2 was not so good for battery runtime.
SO, if this Samsung chip turns out worse how will I know if it's because it's not on 9.0.1?
Bah, it isn't a level playing field.:D

I don't think it would be that much different between 9.0.1 and 9.0.2, you can just share your result.

Just exchanged my 6S+ for the second time.
The first one had a very dodgy home button and the second one had a strange screen fault, the colour temp changed from blue to smokey yellow whenever it felt like it. This third one hasn't got the screen fault...but it does have a Samsung chip.:D
I shall see how the battery life pans out because I had my last TSMC phone for weeks and got a consistent 9-12.5 hours of battery life depending on usage.

Same here, mine was like that, went to the apple store today got a new one, still TSMC chip for me and screen is a lot better~

Had three 6s since release after realising the 6s Plus was way too big.

First was 16gb Silver TMSC but the screen cracked on a drop so took it for repair. Told there are no 6s screen replacements as yet so they swapped the phone out - got another TMSC.

Decided 16gb wasn't enough so bought a 64gb Silver 6s which is Samsung.

Haven't noticed any obvious variances in battery life and I have a fairly regular pattern during weekdays.

I used a Samsung chip 6S for 6 days. Returned it for a sim free model which had TSMC.

Im noticing one hour more of battery life with my usage. I only use my phone for texting, emailing, 8 ball pool, instagram, Facebook, twitter, MLB app and the ESPN app. Phone calls and FaceTime.

Thats it, and I've been using this one for 6 days. These are just my results.

Had a 6S Space Grey Samsung chip, had to get it replaced for a home button issue got another Samsung chip.

Still don't see any major difference between mine and my wife's TSMC.

Ok, all you crazy Samsung swappers, how about this scenario...

If all rose gold iPhones were GUARANTEED TSMC, and all others were Samsung, would you exchange your silver/gray/gold Samsung for a rose gold one?

Muahahaha. Didn't think so.

I think that lots in this thread would actually...

I am on my third iPhone.

1st, Samsung
2nd, TSMC
3rd, TSMC

I didn't replace because of the CPU. My experience is that general usage did not yield any difference than the 6 Plus, regardless of the CPU, and the battery is technically smaller.

I have been running 9.1 since before the 6S/Plus came out. So technically I was forced to upgrade, in order to restore my data.

Not all rose gold are TSMC. my first one was TSMC. replaced it and got Samsung one. Bought another one and it had samsung as well.

I have a rose gold 128gb 6s with a samsung chip. So far I've been really happy with the battery life. I get easily over 7hrs of usage and over 20hrs of standby in wifi without using any battery saving mode. Unfortunately I have some issues with the home button (it makes really loud clicking sound and doesn't always work properly). I'm taking it to the Apple store next week to see what they're going to do about it.

But nah, I'm definitely not returning my phone to get a TSMC chip. Sure, some extra battery life would be great but I'm already really impressed with this one. But I still hope that if they decide to give me a new phone it would have the TSMC chip haha.

Which battery do you have?

Whoops. Should have said "my 6s+ Samsung". I had a TSMC before, but had to return it due to some issues. I really don't see a difference between the two. If anything, I think I have better battery life with the Samsung. I don't contest that that the TSMC may be the better chip, but I think the difference between the two is pretty negligible.
