Yes I have been waiting for the M5 iPad Pro, I sold off my M2 iPad Pro a few months ago and I really miss having a iPad so I can't wait for a M5 iPad Pro with nano texture display.

Yes. I "upgraded" from a M1 iPad Pro to a iPad mini (7th gen) and I can't get used to the smaller screen so I'm waiting for the M5 for sure.

I'm waiting for the M5... then probably to get a M4 on discount😂
I suspect that will be it for me, too.
I have the 2020 iPad Pro, so I'm generally looking for an upgrade. It'll depend a bit on what the M5 model offers and what price Apple is asking, but I'm not sure if it will be enough to compete against a Black Friday deal on the M4 model.

two front cameras seems like the most inelegant method. And wasteful if it’s just for that.

Unless

1) they’re under screen (invisible)
2) used to construct 3D avatars for Vision Pro style comms
3) capturing more than just video.

My guess for specs is:

- M5 (duh!).
- 12GB or 16GB RAM standard (specially since iPhone 17 Pro will get a bump). This could be key for future-proofing and getting the latest AI features.
- WiFi 7.
- BT 4.5.
- Dual selfie cameras.

M5 and more RAM are definitely important for the next year's I bet.
Smaller bezels please.

I guess I’m waiting . . . My 2022 Pro (M2?) is doing just fine, but the 2018 Pro that was handed down to my husband is getting kind of long in the tooth. Honestly, we don’t do anything that really calls for pro-level performance. I think an Air would be just fine, but we both really prefer Face ID, so . . . I’m going to miss my Smart Keyboard Folio when I get something new. I wish Apple would resurrect those.

So I had the M1 12.9 IPP Late 2023 too early 2024. I noticed an issue with it. so I brought to a genius bar. They ran a test and said the logic board was going bad. It could die at any moment luckily 2 to 3 months later, Apple released the M4 13 Ipp and I was able to trade my M1 in to T-Mobile and get it and for the last year and three months I have been enjoying it to the fullest with the magic keyboard and the Apple Pencil Pro I unfortunately couldn’t wait, but I already knew the upgrades from the M1 to the M4 version or worth it tandem OLED better, keyboard, thinner body, lighter weight and with iPadOS 26 it has been amazing using the betas. I am in no rush to upgrade to the M 5 version. I understand the dual cameras on the front, but I don’t need it if it’s only a processor increase and a little bit more ram I like to hold onto my IPP for a few years before upgrading again

I am also waiting for the function that the iPhone 17 got with the N1 chip. I'm looking forward to using the new SPR AVS with the AirPods Pro 3.

I am also looking forward to fast charging with the USB-C PD 3.2 protocol and the new 40W charger.

Am I correct that Apple gave up the plan to release iPad Pro larger than 12.9”?

Another thing to consider, the next iPad Air is almost guaranteed to have a Promotion display (like the base iphone 17), 256 GB storage and the M4 chip for cheaper than the current iPP M4.

My current iPad is the 13” M4 1TB. I’m nowhere near the limit of the capabilities.

I do like new shiney though…and the iPad is my ‘main’ home computing device. Aw wow, I’ve accidentally started trying to justify going with the M5, silly me!

let me see now. Siri’s birthday is October 4 I think. They ought to release the M5 iPad Pro that day along with a big birthday party for Siri and release the new Siri 2.0 on that day instead of waiting until next year.

I have an M2 iPP, and I've considered upgrading to the M4 mainly for the OLED screen. If the M5 has 16GB across the board I would get a 512GB 13" and replace both my iPP and my MacBook Air.

If... that's true, I will most likely buy that. I use my iPad as a consumption device (web browsing + youtube, mostly). I would like Face ID + promotion, but I will accept the latter on its own.

My iPad Pro 9.7” died at the worst time possible, but it did serve me very well. So close to M5 release, yet such a long wait!! When do you think Apple will announce and when do you think it will be available?

I’m really not sure what to do. I like to keep my devices for as long as possible so I want to future proof and I understand that the M5 is likely to come with 16gb ram so that is a big plus.

The other dilemma is that whilst I like the option for windowed mode (especially when using keyboard/trackpad) I’m really disappointed that (touch first) drag and drop Split View and slide over have been removed. I’m partly considering whether to just get the M4 now and stay on iPadOS 18 for a while with the hope they bring back tablet mode alongside windowed mode in iPadOS 27.

It would be a much easier decision for me if you could switch between tablet mode and windowed mode, and if I knew when the M5 release date is!

Will most likely have same LCD Promotion display as the 11 iPP M2, so not Tandem OLED. The 13” version could have Mini LED possibly.

Not sure if I’m waiting for the M5 specifically, but I’m waiting for something. I have an Air 3rd generation at the moment.
