I wouldn't count on mini-led for the air for a single second
For sure, but the iPad Air 11 and 13" models even just getting LCD Promotion screens will elevate them to more desirable levels, similar to what's happened with the base iPhone 17. The iPad Air needs a massive redesign though as its lost its identity. Apple need to give it the same treatment as the Macbook Air and now iPhone Air, and needs to be thinner than 5.1 MM!

I have an iPad Air 2 and I’ve been waiting to upgrade to the M5 iPad Pro, but it seems there are no new leaks coming out since the end of July ‘25. Has it been put off to the first half of next year?

there is plenty of leaks, it's coming end of October / early November at the latest
Btw, kudos for keeping an iPad for so long
And if the M5 get 16GB RAM in the base, this will be the most future proof iPad ever, the iPad that will stay as fast as day 1 through its 7 OS updates (there is the week point of the battery, but with new new battery charge limit, the wear may be reduced without having to baby the battery)

Yeah I can see promotion coming if the pro gets 16GB RAM. I can even see Oled, but not tandem oled, so not the increased brightness. A slimmer body? Not sure. The Macbook pros are rumored to get slimmer and not the Macbook air, so the laptops and tablets the strategy may be different

Absolutely waiting for the M5. I’ve ran into memory issues / crashing with my 8GB RAM M4 a ton.

I shouldn’t be experiencing this on a device of this caliber/price. They better start RAM at 16GB on the M5 iPPs.

I don’t need more onboard storage, I need RAM.

I almost traded my 256gb M4 in for a 1TB M4 a few months ago, but would’ve lost enough money on the trade-in to not do it - especially this close to a (hopefully) October/November refresh.

I have a bad feeling Apple’s going to gimp the 256gb/512gb M5s with 12gb RAM.

How soon, typically, do we find out RAM specs after new iPad model announcement? Before the pre-orders open?

think im gonna wait.. just a chip upgrade and cameras

waiting for more a redesign - slimmer bezzles

I’m still using my 11 inch M2 pro and its still doing everything I need my iPad for so I’m probably going to stay with this for a few more years before looking to upgrade to another 11-inch iPad. Still happy with mine.

iPad Air 2? Wow, I kept mine for a while but upgraded a long time ago. How does it even work at this point? 12 year of use for an iPad is impressive, assuming you got it on day one.

I agree that the iPad Air needs a redesign. I've actually been thinking about this a lot lately. With the introduction of the iPhone Air, and the fact that it is specifically designed to be thin and light, I really feel that the iPad Air needs to go this route.

It seems that the iPhone Pro/Pro Max are a little "chonky-er" now and aimed at pushing all the features that a phone can do. I think the iPad Pro needs to go this route and bulk up a little bit. Cram in some more features that people have been asking for, and give it a larger battery. Give the ultra thin profile that the M4 iPad Pro currently has to the Air line and it would fit better.

Furthermore, if the rumored "low-spec/A chip" MacBook comes into existence, this would park the "Air" model of all three product lines (iPhone, iPad, MacBook) in the middle tier of each.

Absolutely.

If the iPhone Air gives the iPad Pro permission to be a little chonky and allow the Air to be thin-as-f, I’ll be a happy man.

Probably will update from 13" M4 to 13" M5... the trade-in in Bestbuy is better and safe than sell it on FB Market.
Like $500 - 600 with tax for the new model.

I already have the pencil pro and magic keyboard, so is a plus that are compatible.

Just got leaked. I just saw it some YouTuber from Russia.

Apple should be pissed

The iPad Pro in the video is a 256GB model and apparently features 12GB of RAM.

I still have my M1 running fast and fulfilled my needs. Not sure if I need the new one, unless it’s just FOMO.

My 2018 iPad Pro 11 is still going strong for sketching and media consumption. I’ll wait and see the details on the new releases. Atm I’m on the fence.

M4 11" Pro is running stellar since I bought it back in May of 2024. I am not looking to upgrade this device any time soon. Blazingly fast and the screen is superb IMHO.

If the leaks are correct about the M5 iPad Pro, then what I have is the same except for the processor. M4 is plenty for my use.
