I haven't downgraded yet because I was not at home. I am at home now and wondering if I should downgrade or not. I don't want to if it won't go smoothly.

Will it go smoothly? There sure are some mean comments on here. I have never done this before and want it to go smoothly

Dude.

What's to screw up?

You download the IPSW, open iTunes, plug your device into iTunes, hold down OPTN (on Mac) or SHIFT (on PC) and click restore. Point iTunes to the IPSW and you're off.

It's not rocket science and your hesitation and need for someone to hold your hand and tell you it will all be okay is why you're getting 'mean' comments.

Yeah, sure you haven't done it before, but this is a standard Apple process created and allowed by Apple when it's signing older IPSWs. Your only problem is that you are going to lose your data because you can''t restore your date from a higher version of iOS.

You''ll have to set your phone up as new after the downgrade.

A long time ago on my 5. My 6S is new and shiny and too new to be slowed by iOS 11.

I actually like iOS 10 as it worked well on my 5.

iOS 11 should be good...eventually.

Once all the bugs are worked out.

Thanks for your reply. I am waiting on it to download and will install it and set up as new. I don't really have any data that I will lose so I am not worried about that. Thanks for your reply.

BACKUP FIRST

If something goes wrong, you have a good iOS11 restore point. There should be no issues downgrading to iOS10 as long as it is still being signed. Worse case, you do a force restart / recovery mode while it is connected to iTunes, and it will install a fresh copy of iOS11 almost automatically.

From there you can restore your latest iOS 11 backup

Is it better to backup in iTunes or iCloud beforehand?

iTunes will be faster, and since you are using your system in iTunes to downgrade, you may as well have the good backup on that device too.

Either way, you would be connecting your device in Recovery mode with that system anyway.

You should hold off a few more days.
Think about it a little longer.
Will it go smooth?
Check out a few YouTube videos.
Then ASAP contemplate if you should do it:D

Cannot be mean like that bro, this kid will completely mess up this downgrade because of the pressure from this thread. Haha!

OP: I am just messing around. You will be fine doing this, and after will feel great and want to do a fresh install of macOS or something. You got this!
