True enough, but you also had groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, etc. who ALL ruled the airwaves more than the likes of Davey Jones and Co. Can anyone think of any bands and artists today that the industry promotes that could be described as the contemporary versions of the groups I just listed???

Los Lonely Boys?

Time will tell if they can live up to any of those bands, but they have gotten decent attention and are the Real Deal in my opinion.

But I can't think of anything else.

Jessica might play the dumb blonde, but her sister's the one with no class....

At least she admitted it wasn't the bands fault.

As for the Radio music awards on "live" tonight, I think that was tapped in advance, I could be wrong tho.

Tape delay for the west coast, but they'll be showing it live in the east.

This one will be carried by NBC, but I'd still expect a few seconds' electronic delay because Janet Jackson is involved.

I'm depending on you easterners to tell me how it REALLY goes tonite, since they might edit out the next big blooper before we see it.

Is everyone surprised? Every "Pop" performance I've seen on TV is synced.

When Saturday Night Live first aired oh so many years ago they prided themselves on having live performances. They did not want to be like American Bandstand. I'm surprised Saturday night live would do lipsyncing, not surprised what's her name would.

the links are not working for me
That's okay, this is the InterWeb® and so there's already an official Web site dedicated to Ashlee Simpson's marionette adventures! http://www.lipsync.us/

If the individual links are down, the torrent will definitely work.

I can't believe this is getting so much attention, but I think it's hilarious!

And check out the people ripping her about this SNL incident on her CD page at Amazon.com:

Ho down chicken dance jig!

okay, repeat of the "wrong song" thing, then did live, er, vocalization. She sounded a lot like Iggy Pop (slurred 70s-era) this time.
