So what does pro mean in your opinion? Please describe the term as if it were a word in the dictionary.
And if you’re then still somehow coming out thinking about professional you’re probably also using the term air to describe if something is lighter than other comparable objects.
I upgraded from iPhone X and while I do love it and enjoy it, what exactly makes it "pro"?
I mean the camera is definitely pro if you ask me given how sweet the photos come out, but what else?
You can’t place assumptions on people’s employment positions or wealth level based on what devices they use. That’s really immature in my opinion, not to mean offence there. There are people where I work who have better phones than me but are in lesser positions. My boss who owns the company has a personal worth of around €100m and uses an iPhone X.Pro means you’re a boss.
Like if I got the pro iPhone, my pics are gonna be the best in the game, my connection is gonna be the fastest, like no matter what I do, I’m gonna be on it. You’ve got Samsung boys using glitchy software, but if you’re a pro you’re on another level. You’re not gonna see bugs. You drop it, you know it’s not gonna break because it’s reinforced. Pros don’t have time to fix it. A pro user might be your company executive- someone with a position who doesn’t have time for slower model phones.
Basically things like that.
Its kinda like if you a dude with a MacBook Pro but it’s the 13”, you can’t assume he’s a boss. He might be in school still trying to get his degree then work his way up. But if you see a dude with a 16”, he’s probably business.
Like back in the day everybody in college had a 13”. It was no big deal. But more recently I meet people who are business and I see 15” everywhere in space grey. That’s the go to for those who got real things to do out there putting in work.

Not everybody uses their devices to convey some form of status. I’m guessing you are still very young and have much to learn.
Phones aren’t exactly status symbols though. Having a £1k+ iPhone doesn’t mean you’re rich and that’s the case in most cases. Most of my professional and social group are people who have good jobs and drive decent cars. Phones aren’t necessarily a big priority. Not at all. It’s just what I’ve seen.
You can pick a fringe example here and there. Everyone knows a guy who with 1,000,0000,000000 dollars who drives a Ford and lives in a small house including me.
But generally speaking the only people I’ve seen with business devices are those who are business
iPhones are an exception- I’ve seen alotta rich kids parents spend the money so their kids can get them

Pro is for pros. Sweet pro screen, sweet pro processor, sweet pro ram, sweet pro chassis. Be a pro. iPhone pro.
Waiting for the iPhone Con then. Be a Con. iPhone Con.
Just needs ‘Lust For Life’ playing in the background and a Golf Pro winking at the end... Perfect marketing.Pro is for pros. Sweet pro screen, sweet pro processor, sweet pro ram, sweet pro chassis. Be a pro. iPhone pro.

That big stereotype that all of us iPhone users get branded with and beaten over the head with every single time we mention we have an iPhone, this is it, it literally is.
You’d be surprised just how many incredibly successful business people use older or mid-range devices . My last boss who is a multi-millionaire uses a Galaxy S4, people who were far higher up then myself mostly had an iPhone 6 and some were using the blackberry classic.
Also MacBooks? I don’t think Ive ever walked in to an office and seen a MacBook. It’s all windows with people at top using somewhat similar machines to everyone else with some higher ups being allocated a Surface.
Phones aren’t exactly status symbols though. Having a £1k+ iPhone doesn’t mean you’re rich and that’s the case in most cases. Most of my professional and social group are people who have good jobs and drive decent cars. Phones aren’t necessarily a big priority.
The company I work for have iPhone XR/11 as company phones and even the directors use these. Having an iPhone 11 Pro doesn’t mean the person is a top business person. I think you’ve got a strange outlook on what insinuates someone as being successful.
I can guarantee this is about as silly as it gets. Being boss? LOL. You still believe this device is made for executives and special achievers? That’s probably just what you want to become one day.
Like a stubborn child you keep on pushing this ridiculous idea that an empty marketing word actually has meaning in the real life.
Pro means protrusion, prostate, professional all in equal degrees of none.
You’re so air.
It's a good camera, but to call it "pro" in the context of professional makes no sense. Professional photographers won't be using a phone camera. They rely on DSLRs which enable precise artistic control over the photo, and high-quality lenses that can easily cost more than the camera.
To call it "pro" in the context of high-end makes more sense. For the specific class of cameras it's in (consumer smartphone cameras), it's high-end.
To be fair, pros don't EXCLUSIVELY use SLRs/DSLRs and haven't always. In fact, the 35mm-sized SLR as a "pro" tool outside photojournalism is really a 90s/early 2000s phenomenon(before that, medium or large format was preferred for more demanding applications) and even people using 35mm sometimes chose compact interchangeable lens rangefinders over SLRs. These days, mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras(MILCs) are the up and coming technology. All the major makers now have MILC lines-I follow Nikon most closely and their stuff is impressive although to me is not "there" yet.
All of that said, my last two Nikon DSLRs(one an "FX" full frame camera, the other a "DX" crop sensor camera) were bought used and each was still more expensive than a 256gb iPhone 11 Pro Max bought full price out of pocket. Neither was even a top of the line "pro" camera either at least by Nikon's product categorizations.
The amount I have in just Nikon camera bodies and lenses would buy a 512gb iPhone 11 Pro Max in every color...add in my Hasselblad kit and some other stuff, and you could buy an example of every iPhone Apple currently catalogs.
(and I'm not a pro either).
I can assure you there are plenty of people where I live that earn less than £20k, live in council houses but have nice phones. It’s means nothing. I don’t know millionaires like you say. I simply gave an example of my boss not having the very latest iPhone. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy his money, he’s just not as into mobile phones as someone like you. I’m still amazed you place so much emphasis on someone’s choice of phone to be honest.Generally speaking if you see someone with the top gear you know they’re either in success or debt lol.
Like if a guy has a Porsche, iPhone 11 Pro Max, Gucci shoes, he’s a boss.
But if you see someone with the original 2G iphone, a Kia from 1975, and so on he’s probably not a boss although you seem to know millionaires who live like that so idk
Ive heard the Sony cameras are good too. Come in many price points from thousands to hundreds. A lot Instagram celebs have the Sony
Right I mean I’ve seen people who are poor but drive cadillacs with rims so again there’s an example on each side.I can assure you there are plenty of people where I live that earn less than £20k, live in council houses but have nice phones. Sony cameras frustrate me every time I try to use one. The A7RIV is certainly the class leader in terms of resolution, although I'm questioning if it's even possible to build a lens that doesn't need its own truck to haul around and costs less than 6 figures that can resolve to that level. The ~46mp sensors are already pushing things.
Aside from that, Sony's lens line-up comes up a bit short and even things like the "workhorse" f/2.8 zooms are quite expensive compared to the CaNikon equivalents.
Instagram is hardly the high water mark of measuring image quality.
Or perhaps the device they are using has absolutely no relevance whatsoever to how well their business is doing if they are not personally interested in mobile phones? But if youre business you’ll probably using the best gear unless you’re not doing well then you’ll probably use lower end stuff
