Seems like iMessage might still be involved then. Perhaps another device with that Apple ID? Those also seem to be photos, so they wouldn't be SMS anyway, so there might be something else there too.

That message was an iMessage... There is a header that reads "Text Message" *right below* the message that says "Read Sunday". That means that anything before that was iMessage, and the conversation is now just changing to SMS/MMS. Plus it says "iMessage" in the text entry box. I personally don't believe any of this because there's no way that a conversation would be iMessage if one of the devices involved was not an Apple device. I thought you were pretty much saying before that there were green messages with read receipts. Guess not.

Yeah, I don't know any more than you guys. I never paid much attention to text messages, I just sent and replied to them. Then my roommate asked me why her moms droid was sending her read notifications. I told her I didn't think it was possible but I would investigate. Google results seemed to indicate it didn't happen so I asked here. When I asked for an example last night she only had the picture convo. ??????

A couple more shots:

Seems like some things are being sent as iMessages and those are the ones getting read receipts probably from some Apple device. The text messages don't appear to get read receipts on those screenshots.

All of those messages are from my roommates Sprint 5S to her moms Tracfone droid. My WAG is that when the msgs transition between the 2 networks the handoffs are being acked. ???

Somewhere her phone and/or Apple thinks that the number she is sending messages to supports iMessage either by some mistake or some Apple ID that has that number associated with it (from another device or something like that).

Blocked contacts

Hi, here's another stupid question but would really like to know the answer. If someone uses my phone to call or send a message to a contact I have blocked, will it show up on the recent contacts menu on my iphone 6?
Thanks..
