Old news. Prosser just shared a leak on the iScreen, a roll-up device that will take the place of your iPhone AND iPad. And can be used as a beverage straw in glasses up to 20oz. Coming sometime after Spring 2022!
Just bring the iPad Touch ID button to the iPhone. Problem solved.Hopefully notch removal or under display touch id.
Hopefully both
My point was that Apple makes a big deal out of features that have been pretty standard in even budget smartphones for years. They do but these screens aren't OLED or when they are, the 120hz comes with limitations, lower resolution, lower brightness and of course terrible battery life. I do think Apple should bring the standard phones to 90hz and we should already be talking about 144hz not 120 on the pro.
Why do you need it running when looking at a still photo? You mean the display that doesn't run at 120 permanently because Apple won't admit what it would do to the battery?
'pro'motion my ass
An idea came to mind while watching this - the next iphone with a different design is gonna have chamfered edges.Apple: This is the best iPhone we’ve ever made.
P.S. This video is worth watching.
Good one lol coming from metric system 🤷♂️An iPhone with a 5 foot 8 inch display is just too big to carry around.
If you think your iPhone 10 was heavy, try picking up an iPhone with a 5 foot 8 inch display.

That was my initial thought, "Maybe they are keeping the Mini?" I think as long as they are making the appropriate amount and it's worth it to them financially, that Apple should keep making the Mini. If they ever did a Mini Pro with all the camera features, I'd strongly consider it and might actually get it. The difference between the Pro and Pro Max isn't huge from a 1 or 2 handed use perspective, but being able to use a Mini Pro with 1 hand would be nice.Maybe there will be a iphone 14 mini, and this is the model that stays on 60 hz. We can dream right?
iPhone SE - which will replace the mini
Apple doesn't make "a big deal out of features", in the iPhone keynote they mentioned ProMotion for 2 minutes max. Apple doesn't really look at features, they look at devices holistically, they actually patented LTPO and Samsung Display produces the screens for them. They only release new features when these really add to the experience without compromises, they don't do tick box exercises. For instance, Xiaomi has a 100+ Watts charger for phones. That's awesome, but it means that you'll have to change the battery after 6 months. This is not something Apple would do. The iPhone 13 supports 25 Watts charging, Apple did not even advertise it.My point was that Apple makes a big deal out of features that have been pretty standard in even budget smartphones for years.
Like you can't have touch ID and face ID on the same device. There's no under display fingerprint sensor yet. There's still a chunky notch and we are in the 5th year now. 20W is called fast charging and even then you don't get the brick in the box. $100 phones have a 18W charger these days.
The list is really long, and it's unfortunate that steady iPhone sales have made Apple lazy and their innovation cycle is 5 years compared to 2 years on the Android world. 5 years makes sense on automobiles, not on consumer electronics. Sadly they have picked it from their Mac team, where it still makes sense because users don't upgrade computers so frequently.
It's shocking what all iPhone users allow Apple to get away with.
I think it just comes down to size preference. I love my mini. The battery leaves something to be desired. But luckily since the battery is so small, it’s super quick to charge. I also missed the tele lens which is why I upgraded to the 13 pro.I wonder if the mini will have much more adoption rate this year since they bumped the battery so much? I had the mini and loved the size, but the battery was hard to overlook. Gave it to my daughter as her first phone and she’s been happy.
That's exactly what I used to believe about them actually but now I know that Apple used to be a user centric company, but off late their decisions have been driven solely for increasing their margins and revenues.Apple doesn't make "a big deal out of features", in the iPhone keynote they mentioned ProMotion for 2 minutes max. I'm genuinely curious about future iPhone naming...
Will be get numbers all the way? iPhone 38 will be something?
"Finally I'm upgrading from iPhone 28 to 32"![]()
If you were around the rumor sites in the early years of the iPhone, these recent rumors would seem pretty solid as many of them were right. For the first several years of the iPhone era, Apple was able to control the information better, they were smaller and there were fewer suppliers and thus fewer leakers. The rumors were mostly educated guesswork. Over the last few years, as the number of people involved in developing the phones increased, the number of leaks have increased and in most iPhone launches, we have pretty much know what was coming out before Tim took the stage. After seeing how many rumors they got wrong this go 'round, I'm only going to believe 'em, when I see 'em!
I have a hard time knowing which iPad people are talking about when I hear generation-4 or generation-5 for iPads. It's hard to remember which is the current one. the iPad pros do seem to use the year of the release as differentiator and that is a little easier: 2018 iPad Pro, 2020 iPad ProMaybe they'll do what they did with the iPad after a while and one year release it as "the new iPhone".
Then just go by screen size and model year after that.
Apple had to get to where they could build and launch millions of phones with LTPO screens that met their standards for color and power usage. The iPhone scale means that it takes longer to get new tech into production. Its pretty sad at this point that apple doesn't include this as standard across all line up. Most android phones have them these days.
I beg to differ. I had an S21U and the difference was VERY noticeableDo we really need 120 hz??? On such small displays, even on the Pro Max it is hardly noticeable.
Those cheaper phones are using lower quality panels with fixed refresh rates, dimming and high power consumption. Apple users are not unaware of other phones and we make choices based on the whole package, not a spec item.Apple's fortunate that majority of iPhone users are completely ignorant about the state of tech on Android side of things. These 120hz displays were launched in 2019 and now even $200 devices have them.
It does make the scrolling much smoother on iPad Pros. It will likely help on these phones.Do we really need 120 hz??? On such small displays, even on the Pro Max it is hardly noticeable.
