My point was that Apple makes a big deal out of features that have been pretty standard in even budget smartphones for years.

Like you can't have touch ID and face ID on the same device. There's no under display fingerprint sensor yet. There's still a chunky notch and we are in the 5th year now. 20W is called fast charging and even then you don't get the brick in the box. $100 phones have a 18W charger these days.

The list is really long, and it's unfortunate that steady iPhone sales have made Apple lazy and their innovation cycle is 5 years compared to 2 years on the Android world. 5 years makes sense on automobiles, not on consumer electronics. Sadly they have picked it from their Mac team, where it still makes sense because users don't upgrade computers so frequently.

It's shocking what all iPhone users allow Apple to get away with.
I mean...if it's not affecting their sales...why should they? It's like Burberry not having sales. If someone is buying it at a certain price, then keep it. Apple will respond accordingly when sales dip (like the Homepod).

It doesn't make sense that only 1 wouldn't have a ProMotion display. I'm betting it says with the Pro line for now.

Please dont remove the mini. Phone are getting insanely huge. I don't want such monsters.

Exactly. The mini will not stop being a reasonable size and the other ones being unreasonable. 10 months in and this 12 mini screen in my hand is large. Plenty of screen and I had the 5.8" XS for two years.

I don't care about 120Hz if a cumbersome size is the price I pay. XR/11/12 is a great spec level. I saw the page with the XR and XS specs side by side way back in 2018. 1080 and OLED wipe out the last major compromises and I would have taken the best LCD in the industry.

Well I'm still militant about the size hahahaha

Even low end Androids these days (sub $400) have higher refresh rates, often 90 or 120hz, some adaptive too. Apple needs to try harder. They were very late to this party.
Why try harder when people will buy their phones regardless? If you are Apple, you put your money into marketing, which above all else, influences people's decisions to buy your phone. No need to spend money on improving your product.

Apple's fortunate that majority of iPhone users are completely ignorant about the state of tech on Android side of things. These 120hz displays were launched in 2019 and now even $200 devices have them.
The iPad Pro having a high-refresh display before any Android phone did kinda mitigates this particular point.

If you struggle to see 120hz even on 1 inch display, you should go to Doctor and have your brains examined.
I have it on my phone and it’s turned off. Completely irrelevant feature outside of the actual UI of the phone. Websites are still janky and choppy galore even with high-refresh on unoptimizable websites (ESPN comes to mind). Refrshing the screen 1000 times a second doesn’t help that situation.

So yeah, someone does need their brain examined. Maybe see about removing that foot from your mouth, as well.

The mini will only be saved by sales.

mini users want it to have everything e.g. under screen TouchID, 1fps LTPO and no notch, but is that possible ?

Went ahead and preordered the 128 gb iPhone 13 which will replace my iPhone 12. I don’t need promotion sucking up my battery or seeing slow downs in certain areas due to the variable refresh rate plus I have a Note 20 ultra which does a great job with 120 HZ and battery life. Will wait until most likely next year to return to pro models when it has true major improvements.

Those cheaper phones are using lower quality panels with fixed refresh rates, dimming and high power consumption. Apple users are not unaware of other phones and we make choices based on the whole package, not a spec item.
Let's not forget that up until iPhone 11, even Apple was using LCD screens and heck even the greatest and latest iPad Pro 2021 11" still has an LCD.

Also my statement about the ignorance of majority iPhone users is not incorrect, you are just an exception to that rule.

According to a poll on 9to5mac, people are more incline to buy the mini than the regular this year. If that is true, then there is no reason to stop producing the mini.

But that's the wrong dream: the mini has to be a premium phone with a small form factor.
What you're talking about is the SE.
