Can we send voice notes?
Anybody got a fix for the ! Been using it since this morning and nothing but red !
Yes, I just tried it. Just go to the Voice Memos app, create a voice memo or select one of the ones you already have and select "Share". You should see an option for MMS. I have been able to send and receive pictures as well. A few times I got an error but when I retried they went through.
thanks, uhh...darkfiber (?).
thanks for the tip. That worked for me too, as has (without exception for the past 5 hours) sending pics to iPhones and non-iPhones. I'm on an iPhone 3G and was also able to receive and view a video from an iPhone 3Gs. I'm sorry some of you are having trouble. I'll bet it gets better for you.
I've not figured out yet how to send videos (sized via QuickTime for iPhone) from my 3G, as the vids don't show up on my iPhone in Photos, and in iPod>Videos i don't see any "send" buttons. Any ideas on how that might be done? Maybe it just can't, and i'll have to look forward to my 3gS when i'm elegible in Nov.
Lastly: So what do these MMS cost?
Works here in Phx. A bit slow, but it does work.Doesn't work in NE Pennsylvania. AT&T told me it was down all over.
since i can MMS with 3.0 I think ill stick with 3.0 and continue to enjoy free tethering... after all 3.1 has no real feature upgrades.
You made it so complicated for him LOL Just sync your phone to Itunes then do a software update..Softwate update will pop up..Follow the instruction. After the DL..boot your phone and viola...your phone is MMS ready...LOL1. First, you need to download the updated AT&T carrier file The AT&T 5.5 carrier file can be downloaded HERE.
* EDIT* you will need to change the .zip extension to .ipcc
2. Then, youll need to tweak iTunes slightly so that it will let you update the carrier file manually. Here is how you do that:
For Mac Open up Terminal, and at the prompt type defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE and hit Enter.
For Windows (32-bit) Go to Start > Run and type in command, then hit Enter. Then, at the prompt, type C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 and hit Enter.
For Windows (64-bit) Go to Start > Run and type in command, then hit Enter. Then, at the prompt, type C:\Program Files(x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 and hit Enter.
3. Then, plug your iPhone into your computer and fire up iTunes. Once its all loaded, go to your iPhone in iTunes and hold down SHIFT (or OPTION on the Mac) while clicking on the Update button in the main iPhone panel (not the sidebar). This brings up a dialog box that allows you to choose a file for updating. Go to where you saved the AT&T carrier .ipcc file and open it up. You will need to choose the .ipcc file type from the files of type drop-down menu in the dialog box in order to find it. This takes just a moment to update.
4. REBOOT YOUR IPHONE!
GG have fun!
