anyone knows if this deal will be back?

I'm pretty positive it will. I work for Best Buy and we just got an email that Verizon is extending their trade in deal, but they're offering a $550 credit instead of $650. Sprint also extended their trade in deal, so I'm pretty positive ATT will bring it back pretty soon. I'll keep y'all posted.

As long as you pre-ordered your phone before the deadline, you are good to go!
What if you preordered before the 9/25 deadline and you are still waiting on the phone, but you could cancel the preorder and buy the same phone in store right now?

Any way to solve this and still get the promo? Or are you just forced into waiting unnecessarily for the online order?

I saw another post where someone tried to do this at an AT&T store and was told he would loose the $650 promo.

Great - in that case, I'll give it a shot without repairing the screen first - worst case scenario they won't take it and I have to take it to Apple to fix the screen and I lose $129 of my (eventual) $650. Still come out $521 in the positive, assuming I keep the 7 for the full two years.

I don't think it will be back - I was still within the two week return period for my 7, and I went in today to try to switch to a 7 Plus but they wouldn't let me (if I wanted to keep the $650 special deal).

that sucks man. but somehow i feel that it will be back. holiday season is yet to come!

No, once you cancel your pre-order you're out of luck. Sadly the promo is over so you wouldn't qualify. I even contacted our At&t rep (every store has its own rep) and he said there is not much that can be done other than for you to wait.

Be careful, the AT&T trade-in is a scam. I followed all the guidelines, codes and sent mine in with the envelope they sent me and I only got $170 for a mint iPhone 6. I asked for the phone back and they said I'm out of luck. Talked with a senior manager and he gave me a case number and will try to get this issue resolved. Will see what happens.

As long as your Paperwork states Fall2016trade(Sept iPhone Promo) you should be good. My trade in value was $190 for an iPhone 6 Plus turned into the store and the cash register receipt stated Trade in Credit of $0.00. The AT&T Customer Service Representative stated that is the way the program works and you should see the first credit of about $80.00 in three months. Believe me, AT&T wouldn't risk loosing customers by scamming them on their trade in phones.

Bull. A single instance of a problem does not a scam make.

Something happened in your case, either they screwed up or you made a mistake. I hope they get it resolved. Lots of others have had success. Especially those who traded in at a corporate store.

I will let you know what they say. They report I should have an answer by October 5 and the senior manager seems confident. Will see.

I'm calling about mine right now. I put in the promo code and my trade in shows $0, but doesn't say fall trade on the email. I just checked the status of my trade and it says $200 for my mint 128 gb 6 plus.

Anyone who did everything and check the status see something specifically referencing the trade in promotion?

Edit: I just called and she said I was not the first person to check status and show a $200 credit despite my initial trade in showing the expected $0. She escalated my call and I will be receiving an answer via email supposedly. So I'm not anticipating any trouble, but just wanted to check in here.

So if I preordered the 7+ and just received mine. Can I just go to any AT&T stope trade in my 6 and have them apply the promo for me without an issue even though it's past the 25th of september?. I'd rather do it in person than ship it out

As long as you ordered your phone before September 25, you've met the terms of the offer. You now need to turn in your old iPhone at an AT&T corporate store within thirty days.

I don't want to put salt in the wound, but this reassures me I made the right choice selling 6s+ 64 still in contract locked phone on Craigslist and buying 7+ 128 outright.

Peace of mind. Invaluable. Especially when against a major corp that has no regard for your issues, for the most part.

Wouldn't be too surprised if they gave a lot of people weak TIV "accidentally" hoping they won't really notice. It's easy to make tacking things on, or not reducing things on a bill go unnoticed.

My mom bought a 6s+ outright just under 14 days before the iPhone7 announcement as per my recommendation of her liking headphone jack and not caring about rumored changes that were for the most part true, and got a price adjustment when the price dropped too. Her 6 was on its last limb hence the sense of
Urgency. Anyways she got ac+ and for sure did not get monthly att insurance on top of it but I noticed it was tacked onto her line when I accessed our account. The cs rep said there's no way it accidentally got added that she would have had to manually done it (?? She doesn't even know how to do that). Anyways got it removed and my mom callled me asking Why she got a text saying att navigator gps services added. Called up again and it was "accidentally" added while getting insurance removed from other rep. Absurd. Incompetence. No way when it comes to money would I wanna be up against that tidal wave of dishonesty and ineptitude.

But it probably woulda been worth rolling the dice on a 6 trade in, fwiw

Traded two 6+ yesterday at an AT&T Corporate Store...will be looking forward to my credit in a few months. I have no worries that they will honor the deal. I've read all the fine print and both phones met 100% of their requirements, and theres no way they would p*ss so many customers off. I'm as skeptical as the next guy and am always aware that sometimes a deal seems to good to be true, but I don't believe that applies here. Why would they not honor it and drive you away? The whole idea of this promo is to tie you to AT&T for two years.

What jetsam said about an ATT corporate store. And you have to have met the other conditions (bought the 7 on the Next program, own your 6 outright).

The 6 was purchased and paid in full in december two years ago under subsidy which means that if I had not gone through next I would have still have a two month contract.

jetsam, the 30 days are from date of order, delivery or activation of the phone?

i received two credits on my bill just now which are very similar to, but not exactly the same as, one payment on the iphone7 that we bought and activated on Next. off by a couple of cents. strangely this same statement includes the first Next payment on that phone, so i'm not sure why we received two credits. at any rate it does not appear that there was a 3 month delay in receiving the credits for turning in an iphone6.

so things are looking good so far.

ah - these credits are only in the web interface in the area which calls out activity after the previous bill date. so that might explain the double credit - one for the previous bill, and presumably the one that will be on the next bill.

My understanding is that the first credit will include (monthly x number of months paid). So if you are on your third payment by the time the credits start, your first credit would be for 3 payments, and from then on it would be 1:1.

My normal bill is $207 and I still have an $80+ credit. Around this time my bill would already indicate a due date. Maybe they credited me the months upfront OR gave me credit for the devices turned in as well although I didn't think the latter was apart of the promotion.

Make no mistake, I'm certainly not complaining! :D

Given AT&Ts history, this would surprise me. When they began the $25 discounted acess fee for those no longer under contract they also did it via a credit and when the credit did finally kick in it was a few months behind. You had to call in and beg the CS reps for the missing credits and they were not very cooperative. Lots of stories on this forum and AT&T was pretty consistent is using the excuse that "you were told it would take a few billing cycles to go into effect".
I hope it works like you say. I'm just not gonna hold my breath.

i think the promo stated they would "catch you up" on the first credit though. can't remember for sure anymore.
