And how much do you pay for gasoline?WTF, we have up to 20 GB of 4G for 19€ per month in France ($24).
and how much do you pay for gasoline?
So that's around $6.17/gallon, which is more than twice what it goes for in quite a few parts of US these days.1.3 € /l ($1.5), the gov taxes a lot gasoline. BUT diesel is cheaper and far more efficient so are our cars so we need less gasoline. The US should follow the same pattern, increasing the price of gasoline to boost sales of eco-friendly cars and thus reduce greenhouse gas emission without diminishing the purchasing power of consumers.

And look diesel prices are cheaper too still: http://www.globalpetrolprices.com/diesel_prices/
The point is that for various things there are different costs involved in different places for various reasons, nothing new or strange about it.
no love (or double data) for single people with a need for only one data plan and not a shared one.
I'm on a 10GB shared ATT plan. Where's my discount or doubled data??
----------
I've never gotten throttled on the 10GB plan I share with my family and we're constantly going over our allotment (and gettindg charged for it).
What would be the reason then for data plans to be so expensive in the US ?
I heard this and tried it but it didn't work. I don't think I got the retention department though and might call again to try.

All kinds of reasons. Going back and forth about them would be rather pointless and inconsequential though, pretty much detailing the specific topic. What would be the reason then for data plans to be so expensive in the US ?
Because the fact that gasoline is expensive in France is an assumed policy for obvious environmental reasons.
I guess the reason is a lack of competition.
In fact, just 3 years ago, we would pay 50 ($62) for just 1GB of 3G... But a new company arrived on the market (a bit like T-mobile in the US) and dropped prices a lot. I guess it will be the same in the US, giving you access to data plans at a reasonable price.
Called AT&T and got a clueless rep. She kept talking MB instead of GB. She claimed that because I have a FAN discount, I don't qualify for 3GB. I hung up. Maybe I'll try again later and find someone with a clue.
Also not showing on their website.
